We arrived in Flores late and went to find some dinner around 10pm. We stopped in at El Tucan and the man there was incredibly friendly and spoke English well. We only had a couple of drinks- made very well, and some tacos- simple but delicious. Very well priced all round. Recommended.

We stumbled across this place while walking around the island and ended up eating there two nights. Really lovely authentic food but you can also get burgers and chips. We loved the Guatemalan options and the guacamole. You should definitely try this place if you are on a budget looking for a nice meal. The experience was topped by excellent... More

While walking around the island, I stumbled upon El Tucan, a very pleasant surprise, and a nice change from the street food on the waterfront. El Tucan had AMAZING Flamenco music playing all night (Paco De Lucia), the friendly multi-lingual owner was very accommodating, and spoke at least 3 languages that I heard (Spanish, English, German). Tables were lit by... More

We went to to El Tucan after our tour of Tikal - we were famished and thirsty. We ordered the massive lemonadas that quenched our thirst and then tried two items from their menu 'economico' - chile rellenos and a pork stew 'cerdo con verduras' (35Q each). The owner also brought us some super spicy pickles to try and cracked... More

For our last meal before heading back to Guatemala City, we stumbled into this little place. The food was rich and authentic. The owner--Niglan--was very friendly, and knew everyone----including, it turns out, the guide we had hired earlier in the week to take us to some ruins in the Tikal area.

I loved this place! We stumbled upon it when we were walking around town. We reviewed the menu...& knew we wanted to have some "typical" food. This is the place for that. The owner, Niglan is a wealth of information on everything Flores. He was a delightful host. The Chili Relleno was quite tasty & at 35q for the plate,... More

Had a nice dinner and enjoyed the decent Mexican fare offered. The restaurant opens out to one of the main streets of Flores Island. Tacos were quite good and all dishes were good value. Moreover, service was good and the owner, who is very much conversant in English, was warm and friendly.

I was looking for a nice lunch. I found that at this restaurant. The prices are nice, the owner was very nice & helpful. He spoke great English, which was a plus for me... Since I came to Central America without any knowledge of Spanish :) My favorite dish anywhere in the world is Chicken Alfredo & I was pleasantly... More
