We sought out a German restaurant & ordered a lunch special. Spaetzel was not well drained so it had some residual water in my plate. Schnitzel was deep fried in lieu of pan fried and gravy was sort of cold. Bright spot was the bacon wrapped green beans. People who are not familiar with German food will not get a... More

The Lumberjack schnitzel and German Fried potatoes were wonderfully delicious...definitely ordering those again. Also enjoyed the red cabbage but the German egg noodles were way different than my mother-in-law makes and very bland so I did not enjoy them. Also the Meatballs with capers were ok but a little on the bland side. Loved the Apple Strudel. You get a... More

We were a little apprehensive as we approached the restaurant but we decided to go inside and check if out. We were seated immediately. We all ordered pork schnitzel and spaetzele. The meat was OK but the gravy was a little thick. It was a treat to enjoy a Bitbuger.

Just moved to New Braunfels. Wandered into Friesenhaus. Food was great as was the beer. Prices were reasonable and the waitress and bartender we're great. My wife had the leberkase and I had Texas schnitzel. Both we're great as were the sides. Highly recommend.

We live in san Antonio and we dont mind taking the trip to new braunfuels for some good german food. My roulade was very good and my husband had the bratwurst. He drank dunkel which is always good and i had pinot noir. Every thing was very good and extremely filling.

OMG! Everything was awesome! I finally ordered the sausage sampler because I couldn't make up my mind and I asked our wonderful waitress to select my two sides. I don't know a lot about German food because there isn't one anywhere near us, but this was awesome. My wife said it was the best she has ever had, especially the... More

There were four of us and my son and daughter in law were treating us. They have been here before and loved it. First our waitress was fantastic, wish I could remember her name. We ordered potatoe pancakes, and the pretzel along with beer to begin. All was great, we all ordered different beer. Next schnitzel, the lumberjack, the hunter, the... More

The waitress was great so no issue at all with service. The menu had a lot of very authentic Bavarian dishes, and showed a lot of promise. Our group got schnitzels, sausage plate, a pretzel appetizer. I also got a Hofbrau original beer. The beer was outstanding, fresh so no complaints there. The pretzel was excellent and is requested German... More

What can I say - I HAD to have their Texas Schnitzel again tonight!! I simply love their adaption to some Texas "tang" with the jalepeno gravy they put on it! As usual, their German potatoes hit the spot, and the red cabbage was as good as ever - and they got the tenderness spot-on! Our waitress was VERY friendly... More

Really enjoy this place, really great German food. Order the pretzel as an appetizer as soon as you arrive as it takes 20 minutes to cook. It comes will a link of three different sausages, YUM ,YUM. Prepare to have a deli a when deciding on the entree & sides. You MUST go to this place.
