Attractive & comfortable interior, excellent $2 Sangria during Happy Hour, delicious meal for a very reasonable entree price. Server was great!

I can't afford this restaurant all the time, but the food is always delicious and unique! The atmosphere is cute and fun as well! I always bring out of towners here! I love the new bakery as well! Super cute!

We found this little gem while walking the square downtown. The menu had a variety of options that all sounded good. I personally loved the ham, swiss and cinnamon apple sandwich.

We paid to park in a lot a short walk from the restaurant (2 blocks?) after circling around a few times and not finding a space on the streets. Andrea, our server, was excellent. Tables are well-spaced. Enjoyed my iced tea (blueberry?) Particularly enjoyed the beet burger, served with basil goat cheese pesto and sprouts on a delicious onion roll... More

Saturday morning breakfast at the Root Cellar was excellent. French toast, eggs Florentine and bacon and eggs were delicious. The dining room is really cool, being an old root cellar. DoJo, our server was fabulous. Highly recommend. Can't wait to try this place for lunch and dinner.

The service was very good. From the moment we walked in the door till we strolled out, the star was very pleasant, and attentive. I had a chicken breast with blue cheese, green beans and fries. All very salty. My friend had the bourbon pecan pork meal. The sauce was very sweet. The restaurant is quaint and the local patrons... More

Unfortunately I'm going to have to NOT recommend this restaurant. Our steaks were all cooked well done and very difficult to cut. The table of five had to go back to hotel and order pizza because our food wasn't good. I recommend going to Palmers. We had great food and service.

The service was friendly and the food was amazing. We had blackened tilapia with a cheese risotto and a delicious salmon dish. Mac and cheese for the younger kids. Nice atmosphere too. Definitely a find!

We were passing through San Marcos, and decided we needed to grab a bite. I'm really glad we stopped here. Situated in what might be the cellar of a building, Root Cellar was full of character. Antique tables and chairs were situated throughout the establishment, giving it a warm and inviting feel. We had spinach & artichoke dip, pasta primavera,... More
