Terrific local restaurant serving all varieties of seafood. The decor is 'unique.' The wait staff is super friendly and the food was yummy. We tried blackened zucchini for an appetizer and it was a treat. There is no doubt in my mind I would plan a return visit the next time I am in South Padre Island.

Food always tastes fresh and non greasy..crisp batter and cold beer. *** flip/flops, shorts with tee shirts always in vogue..Staff very... More

Dirty Al's. What can I say? It's just solid seafood. When you walk in there is a cabinet displaying a mound of fresh, large shrimp. I had a po-boy with blackened fish. My wife had a combo of fish and shrimp. Everything is nicely battered, but doesn't taste heavy. The atmosphere is very tropical and no nonsense. The service is... More

We loved it. The blackened fish, fried shrimp, and onion rings were so good. The service was excellent.

We were advised to eat here by some friends, very lay back, and so it was, had blackened fish-disappointed, not really blackened but okay, pricing is good, good service, did not live up to our expectations.

We both got burgers that were nowhere close to very well done like we asked for. Only ate a few bites and was done with it. What really got me was how dirty the place was from the tables to the floors. Just gross! Could not eat in those surroundings.

Fun, upfront view of Padre Island across the bridge. Food is great, service great and well worth a visit. Even on a cool, blustery day it was nice. Excellent appetizers!

About Us
Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world.
As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico.
A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team!
Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.
