I normally prefer local places to large chains and decided not to review this place after a less than satisfying meal last fall, hoping we had caught them on a bad night. We went back tonight and I wanted to see two things: they understand how to cook carne asada "medium" and the onions are actually grilled. Two total fails.... More

Not a terrible place but definitely nothing special. We only go if our regular place is too crowded and we can't wait. Clean and neat, pleasant service. Food neither particularly good nor bad. Margaritas not worth buying.

Went to have lunch with some friends. Had carnitas fajitas. The carnital were very tender and flavorful. Service was good. It's a very attractive and clean restaurant. I will return.

One thing after another with this horrible place. The only reason I ever kept going back was because it's right next to my house and I really wanted to give it a chance. Shards of glass in the frozen margaritas, reheated food that has been refrigerated, rehashed chips n salsa, and to top it all off, a freaking booger on... More

Management response:

I find it extremely hard to believe that either of these things would ever happen in our restaurant, Jonathon. The idea of glass being in our beverages is absurd -- we would've noticed the incident that would've caused this, and would never under any circumstance then serve that to our guests. The other incident you described with our manager is... More

Signed up for offers via text, because I liked their food. At first worked fine, but did not work the last 3-4 times. Called the Manager over this time & he said there was nothing he could do. I feel this is a scam. Food is still good-just don't count on their advertised 20% or 10% off advertising.

Thank Joe C
Management response:

I appreciate the feedback on the text rewards, Joe. I'll look into the issue and see if we can get it solved. I know that's super frustrating, and I apologize. Hopefully this won't prevent you from stopping in again sometime -- we'd hate to lose a customer over this. All the best, Ron, Owner More

Family Brunch....orders included chicken bowls, chicken soups, tortilla soups, beef nachos. Portions were good sized, (some took food home) and medium priced. My tortilla soup had chunks of chicken and good flavor....good...not greatest I've had. Texas has too many Mexican restaurants though not to have great!!! BUt, the shocker was the $10.00 skinny margarita.....Really....nothing but a single shot of tequila... More

Management response:

Although I'm glad you guys enjoyed your meals, Heidi, it's a shame the skinny margarita wasn't your favorite. Although we believe the quality of the ingredients are reflected in the price, I'm sorry you didn't think so. That's good feedback, though, and I appreciate it. All the best, Ron, Owner More

Service was good; lunch menu is limited; no senior discounts. Food was served lukewarm; my chicken enchiladas were ok, enough chicken but not hot. Wife's beef enchiladas had little meat and watered down chili sauce -- not meaty chili. Also her enchiladas were thick flour -- she prefers corn. Very bland and not tasty. Not really authentic Tex-Mex.

Thank TJ T
Management response:

It's a shame you weren't the biggest fan of the enchiladas, TJ. Watered-down chili is not the standard, and it's shocking to think yours was served like that. I know it's been a while since you wrote this, but I hope you've been back to give us another shot. I know we're capable of better. All the best, Ron, Owner More

We decided to try out the Rico's Spring location while waiting for the one in Cypress to open. It did not disappoint. The honey glazed salmon was excellent and the service impeccable. I would say ask for Robert, but he is moving to the Cypress location. The only thing they could improve on is using bigger salsa bowls.

Thank Stugatsa
Management response:

I'm glad you enjoyed everything, and it's great Robert took good care you guys! I hope you make it to Cypress location soon. That's good feedback on the salsa bowls, too -- I appreciate it. See you soon, Ron, Owner More

Our family stopped by last night for dinner. The chips and salsa were very good. They were devoured too quickly. We were never offered any more which is my only complaint. With small kids if you keep them rating they will usually behave. Service was good. One of our kids had a hamburger and the other chicken tenders. They seemed... More

We used to visit Rico's every couple weeks. However, after our last visit, I am DONE. During our last visit, we were promptly seated and then greeted by our server. That is where the good vibes ended. We gave our drink orders to the server and he WROTE THEM DOWN! But when the small frozen house margaritas arrived, they were... More
