We ate dinner and breakfast here during our stay in the area. Both of our servers were friendly without being intrusive. Everything was very clean, including the restrooms.
We both ordered burgers for dinner, one with fries, the other a side salad. Food was not rushed out to us, meaning nothing was precooked and then microwaved. Neither of us had complaints.
They serve wines from Moab along with a nice selection of beer and a hard cider which the Mr. enjoyed. My Cabernet was great as well.
Breakfast was eggs Benedict with bacon and breakfast bagel sandwich. Bacon was delicious and thick cut, nothing worse than wimpy slices of bacon! Food was fresh, again no complaints.
Prices were reasonable. We’ll definitely return when in the area again.

When staying in Green River, there are a few options for food, but we wanted something near to the river & something reliable (having originally wanting to go to Ray’s Tavern for a steak, but it was extremely busy & we just wanted something a bit more restraint-y that evening). The Tamarisk had some of the best reviews, so we went for an early dinner on a Monday evening at the end of May. We got a seated within about 10 minutes and had a booth at the window to enjoy the view of the swollen lazy river, and the hummingbirds flitting back & forward to the feeders outside.
We ordered a couple of drinks and some rib-eyes, which were cooked adequately & accompanied by lots of seasoned fries. (I somehow managed to end up with a double portion of fries due to a slight miscommunication with the server regarding the sides available, but wasn’t too fussed, as we were quite hungry & I didn’t want to have any delay in replacing anything). The food was decent (and the servers efficient but not overly friendly) but not exactly cheap (but then it is in a tourist stop-over town) and the ambience was fairly laid back, with an arty, hip feel to the light & airy décor. There's also a gift shop area at the reception/entrance with some local produce and products. Not a bad experience, but not something that would make me head there again before checking out some other options in town.

My husband and I had both lunch and breakfast at Tamarisk. Both meals were excellent - well cooked, appealing and plentiful food but the breakfast especially was FABULOUS. I had the Eggs Benedict with Ham, Tomato and Avocado and my husband had the French Toast with Crispy Bacon. Wish we lived closer - we would be here every morning. Our compliments to the Chef!

That has got to be the most awkward request: hey, you don't have to wear a mask, but I would like you to wear one just for our table. Easier to get take away which worked nicely. The server who was at the front seemed super exasperated by everything so it's just as good that we took food out (the person who actually rang us up was very patient).
The restaurant is beautiful inside and out, and there's plenty of parking, so we were able to pick up the Navajo Taco Chicken Salad and the Navajo Flat Bread. They were so tasty, and the portions were huge. You know it's good quality when you save the fry bread for last and it's still perfectly cooked rather than soggy or crunchy.

What a fun find! We were road tripping it from Montana to New Mexico & opted to take a chance on finding a great place to eat before we hit Moab & we were so glad we did!
Our waitress was accommodating...we asked if we could order a lunch menu item to go & she checked with the cook to make sure we could. Our breakfast arrived steaming hot & LARGE portions....my entree served as 3 meals! Veggie omelet was so good! Crispy hash browns.
The restaurant has a great view of the Green River. Soothing music was playing. A great start to a long day of driving!

On par with fine hotel restaurants! Enjoyed the window views of the Green River with hummingbird feeders for a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. We had a friendly server. Great Chef!!! I had the Steak and Eggs. and everything cooked to a perfect temperature and the chimichurri with lime was a nice touch.
We shared a killer cinnamon roll the size of a dinner plate with cream cheese icing that was perfect!! I highly recommend it, if you are a cinnamon roll consumer expert.

We were recently staying in Green River in order to be close to Arches NP. We stayed across the street from the restaurant and it was given high reviews by the hotel staff. We were not disappointed. We were able to have some local brews and they had two Frybread dishes that we each had. I'm not sure what my husbands was called but they basically took the fry bread and topped it with chicken and cheese and roasted corn and beans and then baked it until it was golden and then topped it with sauce and avocado, he really enjoyed it. I had what I consider to be the best salad ever. It was greens with roasted corn, avocado, grilled chicken, crispy bacon and beans with a spicy chile ranch dressing and a piece of fry bread on the side. It was literally the most yummy salad I've ever had, so tasty and they gave a very large serving we both could not finish it! In any case, if you are in the area, please check them out. Service was great the server was really nice and everything was setup to be very safe during COVID-19, i.e. not all tables were opened for seating, hand sanitizer stations in multiple spots, the wait staff wear masks, etc.

10% discount staying at the KOA next door. Very convenient to call and order takeout- it was ready in 10 minutes. The salad and mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious. The chicken fried chicken, cod, chicken strips and onion rings seemed prepackaged and deep fried for too long making them too tough to eat. The regular fries were better than the sweet potato fries. Being the most recommended place in town, we'd probably give it another chance next time we come to visit.

We enjoyed a large chef's salad and a French dip sandwitch. Both were well presented. The salad was crisp and had generous portions of meat, hard boiled egg, and fresh tomatoes. Bleu cheesedressing was tangy and served on the side. French dip was served on a cebata type bun and the meat was very tender. A slice of Swiss cheese was melted onto the meat - nice touch.

We had dinner here twice and breakfast once. This is a very popular restaurant in Green River. I saw a few other places where you could probably have dinner but this had the best appearance from the outside. It is on the river and the tables in the back room have a view of the river. Service was very good. The food was great. It took awhile for the food to arrive after being ordered but I believe it is because they are cooking everything fresh to order. So it's worth a little wait. Portions were generous and there is a great variety on the menu.

I struggled with the rating for this restaurant…first the negative:
We were told it would be a 30 min wait for table, not a bother as there is a seating area for people waiting….45 mins later we were seated - I do appreciate that current customers cannot be forced out - it was then 20 mins for our server to take our food order and a further 20 maybe more before our food came out.
My husband had the black dragon and was sorely disappointed…..the ham was straight out of a packet, the cheese was warm..not grilled/broiled…the blue cheese salad dressing tasted just like Mayo..he left it all.
Positives:
The restaurant is lovely/clean & fresh, our server was incredible sweet
My chicken fried steak was AMAZING!!!

Try to arrive between 5:00-5:30 for dinner, as you may have to wait for 20-30 minutes. The service and food was great, and make sure you bring a big appetite (large portions). The menu is very diverse, as everyone in your party should be able to find something that meets their tastes.

Used reviews to make our decision about dinner tonight and we were more than pleased and surprised! The ambiance is kind if a modern rural farmhouse feel. There is a beautiful view of the river.
We had the Navajo Flatbread as a starter and it comes with homemade strawberry and apricot jams and creamed honey butter - it was like dessert first? Yes please !
Spouse had the pork chop upon recommendation and you can’t go wrong with that choice. Best pork chops I have ever had. I ordered the Navajo Flatbread Salad and it was very good.
Large portions so be prepared! We took home half the salad and the sides to the chops.
Also sells local wines and beers from thr area - I respect that support of the local economy. Worth a stop!

Service was friendly and efficient. Linda’s salmon was cooked just right and the salads were large and fresh with a good selection of dressings. The chicken fried steak was really lacking. The lady at Shady Acres rv park said it was the best ever BUT it was not fresh. It had to have come frozen because it was perfectly round, thin and lacking any seasoning and was deep fried. It was served on top of “gravy” which was more like a non-seasoned white sauce.
Not many choices in Green River. Wish we had chosen Ray’s Tavern.

Some of us "foodies" and travelers are far too critical in our reviews. I've been in the hotel and restaurant business for 50 years, and I must commend this restaurant for the great efforts put out to feed a lot of people, from all walks. We walked in on a Tuesday night in June, and the place was packed, and had a 30 minute wait. So we went for a walk along the river and around the museum (other side of the street). Very nice, short trail along the river.
We came back were seated at a table at the window overlooking the river. FABULOUS luck. The young man serving our section was extremely busy - but never stopped moving, never stopped checking in with guests. And the hostess and bus staff was always working and checking on guests. This must have been a tired crew at the end of the shift.
The veggie burger was good; the Black Dragon was "ehhh". As noted in another review, it does lack the excitement the name implies. It's sliced ham over a baked chicken breast with melted cheese (I saw no grill marks when I looked under the ham and cheese). But it was a surprisingly good meal considering the distance from the suppliers. And in this day when every restaurant (and business) has a "Help wanted" or "Now Hiring" sign on the front door, the team here seemed to be knowledgeable, kind, and very hard working.
