I cook, eat and hold restaurants to very high standards. Maybe because I'm a local and have known this establishment since its infancy, I hold it to even higher standards in the way a parent expects more from their own children. Quite by accident I allowed too much time to elapse between visits to TJ Buckley's. Always good and recommended,... More

This is simply a stunning little restaurant in the lovely Vermont town of Brattleboro. Michael does all the cooking to order. There are always four appetizers and four main courses available; the best salad I've ever had comes with each meal and the side dishes are amazing. I think Michael deserves a Michelin star for being best in class in a... More

There is no printed menu. Wait staff will recite the four entree choices, plus appetizers. Everything is fresh & local. The chef, Michael, prepares food that he personally shops for. Elegant but casual, great for special occasions. But it is expensive. Worth at least one visit for the experience. You must reserve, since it is so small.

We drove an hour to celebrate a special occasion at this unique fine-dining cubby-hole of a restaurant. Do make a reservation, do plan on a 2-hour dining experience, do plan on spending some serious coin, and most definitely do plan to come away being absolutely stunned at the extraordinarily high quality of service, food and "wow" factor. The owner-chef, Michael,... More

My boyfriend and I were in Brattleboro for a Valentine's getaway weekend, and our B&B recommended Buckley's as a great spot for a special occasion. In keeping with the quirkiness of Brattleboro, this excellent restaurant is in an unassuming repurposed dining car. The food is superb. We had the crabcake and the burrata to start, the swordfish and the short... More

Fine dining... Tried the pate appetizer... see picture...very good and a work of art to look at. Bread is even delicious. Salads come with entrees and are wonderful. I had halibut cooked to perfection. My friend had the scallops, golden brown on outside and soft in the middle. Wonderful wine choices too. It's a very small place so reservations are... More

Just a small little 5 star diner in Brattleboro, VT! Buckley''s is a national treasure! The food is fresh beautifully prepared- the preparation occurs right in plain site. We love this destination and always return. We come to this area just to have dinner at T. J? Buckley'!

It has been many years since I dined at T.J. Buckley's and tonight's experience was all that I had expected and more. It was flawless. The food was superb, offering a splendid array of taste, texture and visual appeal. The presentation was attractive and clearly the work of a perfectionist. Suggested wines proved to be a great match... we even... More

TJ Buckley was recommended to us by a friend who raves about it. My husband and I had dinner there last night and now we rave about it. The restaurant is set in an old fashioned caboose-type diner, but serves very elegant dishes. It is small, just a few tables, and the owner and chef works alone at the stove,... More

My experience at T. J.Buckley's was on par as one of the best meals & experiences I've had. I was there for a birthday celebration with family and it was a perfect setting for that. We shared the 4 available appetizers and we tasted each other entrees. I loved the house salad with local greens & equisitely prepared shaved vegetables... More
