As first timers at hen of the wood, we wanted to try as much as possible so we opted for 3 small plates and 1 large plate and 2 desserts between 2 big eaters. Service was wonderful and attentive and she gave good wine recommendations....More

We are locals and I was surprised at how many people I knew at this restaurant. It is full of beautiful wood which can make it a bit noisy but it did not bother us. This restaurant is very experimental and there were 4 entrees...More

Hen of the Wood has some of the best food in BUrlington - interesting choices, perfectly cooked. Our group of 6 ordered 6 small plates and 1 large plate. We shared everything and there was plenty for all. We had octopus, lamb chops, steak, pate,...More

Excellent food and staff. Not much for gluten free bread products for gluten free customers enjoying cheese. That was generally fine because the cheeses were excellent!

The restaurant itself is beautiful, we commented on it throughout the meal, we chanced a walk in at 8ish on a Wed and were accommodated immediately but would recommend a reservation (someplace by the fire!) as the place was very busy. Amazing setting, delicious food,...More

You know you're in for something interesting when the restaurant's name is right out of a Hans Christian Anderson fable. At first it's a touch inauspicious when you walk into a new eating establishment and hear the house music: "You Can't Always Get What You...More

Stopped into the new Hen of the Wood on a raw, rainy night. The warm fire - and equally warm service - were just the trick. I was dining solo, and the restaurant was crowded, so a spot at the bar was an easy choice....More

Yes. I believe so. The party next to me ordered a vegetarian plate and I overheard that they thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
