The Cow Palace has always been a favorite of ours. The wait staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is cozy and clean, which is the bonus of not dinning at a chain restaurant! This weekend me and my husband went out and I had the Vermont maple chicken for the first time and he had the prime... More

After viewing the elk herd - that's an unusual feature for a restaurant to offer - we went in for an early dinner. It was nice .. nice service, choice of portion sizes for ribs .. ribs very tender. Quick, pleasant service kept it from being average.

We drove into the parking lot and saw a field full of Elk. inside the dinning area the walls are covered with all sorts of animals. If you are an animal lover this place may not be for you. The food and service were very good.

I have been to the Newport area of Vermont about 6 or 7 times the past few years but until tonight had not tried the Cow Palace. I had envisioned it being a dark, somewhat repressive interior, BUT WAS I EVER WRONG! The atmosphere was open and spacious, clean and inviting. I arrived at 5:30PM for an early dinner and... More

This is one of the first times trip advisor has mislead us. We went here on our 20th Anniversary and unfortunately we're 100% unimpressed! From the moment we walked in to the time we walked out, the service sucked! Where is this salad bar everyone speaks so highly of? The drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, and then when we... More

Delicious unique food! Awesome atmosphere. Friendly service. Somewhat pricey but with all fresh ingredients make it all worth it. A must if you're in the area.

Cow Palace is unique in that there are elk in the back yard. If you are lucky enough they will come up close to the fence so you can get a picture with them. Service of restaurant was excellent. Food was good, salad bar and some different choices such as elk (if you dare try it after seeing the beautiful animals... More

Lunch was served in the pub area not the dining room, not very busy for a Tuesday lunch time! Ordered special maple BBQ burger! It was delicious, but I'd rather of sat in the dining room! Price for burger and fries was very reasonable!

In from out of state for a family get together, we arrived at Cow Palace without a reservation. It happened to be Prom night, but Cow Palace staff accommodated us anyway. The atmosphere was great, on the outside there are live Elks and on the inside there are replicas of deer, bears etc. The food was phenomenal. Some of us... More

This place is undoubtedly the best place you can find to eat meat near Newport. All four of us enjoyed our plates, the atmosphere is nice, service is great but on top of everything, awesome value for money.
