My husband and I stopped in for a drink at the bar and ended up getting food! We decided on one of the Indian week appetizers, the lamb kabobs, and the mussels frites. Both were excellent! We finished with the Samoa sundae which was excellent- just like a Girl Scout cookie! Great draft list and delicious wine. Modern and spunky-... More

We are thrilled you decided to stop in and are so glad you enjoyed yourselves! The Indian specials this week have been amazing and next month we'll be "visiting" the United Kingdom for a week of specials (Shepard's Pie? Yum!) You'll have to come back and visit us again! More

The dining room has turned into a noisy bar scene. Prices are very high for the bland ambience, noise and my husbands poorly prepared meal. This is a change from our past lovely dinners we have had at Barrows House. I am glad we did not bring any of our holiday guests here. There are better dining choices in the... More

While we thank you for choosing Barrows House, we certainly apologize for not meeting your expectations. The holiday seasons are extraordinarily busy for everyone, including restaurants, which definitely leads to noisier than usual atmospheres. We are incredibly proud of our culinary staff and would implore you to come again, maybe when it's a slower time of year. More

Very disappointed in our dinners on a return visit to Barrows House. They all were sub par. Hope they get their act together and offer the kind of experience we have enjoyed in the past. We have enjoyed dining there on our visits with friends in Dorset.

After a very enjoyable experience a year ago, we decided to return to the Barrows House. This visit stated with a couple drafts from their brief but craft intensive list of beers. Since they had tapped out of the porter on the list that I was interested in, I decide to try a 14th Star Valor Ale ($6) from Burlington,... More

My wife and I had drinks and dinner at Barrows House. What had bee a charming inn dining room has been transformed into a setting more suited to New York. Bar is large, modern and unexpected in small Fermont village. Service was good but food was average and comparatively expensive.

We had dinner at this restaurant one night while staying here for two nights. Before dinner, we enjoyed a cocktail while sitting by the fire pit on the patio which was perfect and romantic on a cool fall evening. My husband and I each had the rib eye special with a brandy lobster meat sauce which was beyond delicious, but... More

Wow! I have been eating myself around the USA on Pub Chips and these ones...... AMAZING!!! (Please. No comments on how round I am getting on chip! Lol) Waffle-cut and a nice sharp dipping sauce make this "snack" worth a visit. They have an ever-evolving cocktails menu and the dinner specials are always fresh and a little edgy. One of... More

This restaurant truly surprised me, while passing thru looking for a place to have dinner we were originally drawn in by the outside fire pit and dining on an evening that would have been truly wonderful to dine under the stars. Once inside we were originally disappointed to learn that reservations had been made by others to dine outside for... More
