upon entering the resort a bakery selection is evident in an adjacent glass case. Pastries and baked goods can be purchased individually and taken to your room for later. The red velvet cupcakes were delicious!

Although I was stuffed from our dinner out, I could easily have eaten a second Napoleon. For $5... More

Crispy puff pastry with layered apples and just sweet enough. They have them made of pears as well. You'll see them in a pastry case when you walk into the lobby.

What a beautiful display of items in their bakery case. And it's right there as you walk in the main entrance. I had the most fabulous creme brulee I've ever had. My friend had a chocolate dipped macaroom. Many, many choices..

Good option for baked goods and coffee when you are staying at the Essex and don't feel like having a big breakfast. I had a pastry and coffee, both highly recommended.

I like to buy a treat for my daughter and am often convinced to accept a complementary treat for myself ( the dark chocolate dipped strawberry is a temptation I cannot refuse when offered!)

The Essex Bakery offers incredible food for breakfast and lunch in an unlikely place that so needed a good place to eat. The breakfast options include excellent egg sandwiches on your choice of breads including croissants and their homemade English muffins. The lunch menu includes some lovely sandwhiches including turkey with brie and other elegant choices. The soups are tasty,... More

1/4 mile walk from my hotel to the Essex Shoppes. Grabbed an egg and cheese deluxe sandwhich. Excellent. Also bought pastrys at the hotel for my train trip home. Everyone on the train was so jealous.
