Met some friends for a meal here before we all attended a meeting. The menu is "American", which meant there was something there for everyone. The food is very good and plentiful. The service was good, too, although we were there at a pretty busy time. Prices were average, for the region. I'd definitely go back.

Food is fresh and creative! The Essex Grill has improved greatly. Friendly staff, and the chef takes pride in her craft. The word is out - very busy during lunch period, but well worth the wait! Try it

Have eaten here three times. 2 lunches and one breakfast. Food and presentation not very appealing. Our waitress was very experienced.

We were here for lunch. The soup of the day was onion apple. A lady seated on the deck when we went in said it was really good. So I tried it and it was delicious! I had never heard of it before, and being from Pennsylvania, I had to try it. Everything we got there was really good. Nice... More

We like the Essex grill because the food is good, prices reasonable, and service friendly. They have a deck where it is pleasant to eat outside on nice days. They usually have a special Queen City brew on tap as well as a few other local brews. Rolling Rock cans are a bargain. I usually get a burger. My wife... More

Love the fish and chips!. Large pieces of fish with a crunchy but light coating. I ordered sweet potatoes fries and they were wonderful also.

We've been eating here every Sunday morning for three years and we love it. The food is great, and so is the service! It's not a fancy place, but it has a charm all it's own and the friendly folk who own the place and/or work there will make you feel like family.

Wow! Unusually small portions, chocolate milk was white, almost as white as the wheat toast. Presented with the wrong bill. Other than that my only complaint was the sticky table. Sorry, will not return.

We had breakfast at the Essex Grill on a Sunday morning before church. The waitress was very friendly and since we had a schedule, she made sure we got to eat. We had french toast which was excellent and the syrup was, well we were in Vermont, so of course it was awesome!
