Great place for breakfast

This is a great place for breakfast. You either order upfront or on your phone and they bring the food to you. Food is served in recycled paper based plates and disposable utensils. Dinning area is small and very basic. Food was very good for breakfast items. Everyone that we met at the restaurant was super friendly. We would recommend.

Delicious Breakfast!

We loved the food here so much that we passed on the free continental breakfast at our hotel just so we could enjoy more offerings from the Hatchery. Very fresh food with great take-out presentation and very easy ordering. Highly recommended!

Wasn’t much open and wouldn’t return

We were there in July, during the week and honestly not much open for lunch. We did the self sign in at the restaurant , several others in front of us who commented that they’d been waiting for a while and weren’t even acknowledged by the staff. They ultimately left. We walked out as well but couldn’t find an alternative for lunch and ended up going back when we received a text that table was ready. The grilled banana bread with fruit was the highlight of the visit. The colossal cinnamon roll looked better than it tasted. The grilled “chicken” on my salad wasn’t real, I actually questioned if they substituted tofu instead. Happy to support small and local but would not return for food or service.

Horrible. Absolutely horrible.

If I could give it a negative star I would. The Hatchery used to be my favorite place in Ludlow, Vt. It’s not even close to how it was just a few years ago. The service was awful. The food was worse. Hotel prepackaged “scrambled eggs”, the coffee was hotter water with a little color. And when they ask if you want to start with their “homemade cinnamon bun “ say no!!!! They sneak in a crazy charge for pillsbury rolls disguised as a cinnamon bun.

Ludlow for Lunch

The Hatchery served a very good lunch. Still dealing with limited help and therefore a bit of procedure to be seated, but the food was very good. Try the asparagus sandwich - was fantastic. Fresh orange juice was a big seller to lots of the customers. Owners very friendly and dealing with the post Covid situation as best they can. Not fancy - but good.

Possibly worst breakfast I have ever eaten

So about a year ago was up in Ludlow and was looking for a breakfast place. Reviews looked good for this place so decided to check it out. First off the wait was far too long for a seat. Not much in the area so decided it must be worth the wait. Well, nope. McDonalds would have been far better, and I hate fast food. Had to order myself from a smartphone, and a 20% tip was added automatically, no chance to change that at all, and didn't see that until after the order was placed! Then breakfast was served in styrofoam containers! I was beyond shocked and disappointed. I can't believe all these positive reviews, there is no way these are real. That or the standards for quality are beyond low for this area. Definitely will not be going back to this place again.

Breakfast Diner with Family Feel - A Must Stop

The location was right downtown on a corner. Parking is on the street. The atmosphere is quaint, not "dinerish", but very cute. Lots of wood. The furniture is basic but sufficient. The real star is the food and the service. You would be hard pressed to find a better breakfast. The food was incredible. Lots of options and all looked good. The service was so good. Another nice feature was the self serve coffee and drink bar. It gave the room a family feel. We liked this. We would highly recommend this place to anyone!

The place for local breakfast!

Great coffee (bottomless) and delicious food (generous portions). No wait during the week but a bit of one on a weekend late-morning. We didn't expect them to have a liquor license, but they do, so spiked cider and mimosas are on offer. Expect the cinnamon roll to be as big as a personal pizza!

Awesome restaurant

The service was wonderful ass was the food. My waffle loving husband calls theirs the best flavor ever. My omelet was terrific. Would come back in an instant.

Good ruben service not so much

Wandered through town saw someone in the window eating and decided to stop for lunch ... The Ruben was.good. downside is you've already tipped when you paid but no service at all is offered .. they drop off your sandwich and tell you to walk over there and get your napkins forks or whatever. Side is a bag of chips ...drinks are in a bottle and not cheap ... They seem to expect you to bus your own table etc. So it's not really a sit down restaurant per se it's an expensive serve yourself and clean up after yourself and bag of chips place. ...

Great place to go, the food is amazing we had to go back because it was so delicious. I recommend the vermonter if you like omelets. With COVID-19 they were spot on for the rules to follow and I do appreciate them protecting my health and safety. Make a reservation before you go.

Sooooo tasty!

Sooooo tasty! I had dental work done yesterday and needed to eat something soft. The "egg sammich" with cheese and ham on a roll was JUST the ticket! The coffee is delicious also!

What a great stop to pick
