For hanging out at the bar or watching sporting events, there is no better place. For high quality food for lunch or dinner, not as much. I know, it's pub fare so you can't expect that much, but it's nice to have some healthy choices that are actually "light." Even our salad was doused with dressing, the soup had too... More

Went here for dinner, and wished that we had found a seat at the bar. It was festive and decorated for the holiday. A couple of TV's but they didn't command all of the attention. We ordered the cheddar ale soup and french onion - both very good. Presentation was good too. I had the Canadian Reuben - it was... More

I could sit here all afternoon. Had a 3pm lunch. The restaurant is quiet, dim, fantastic music. The green eyes cocktail did not disappoint, neither did the kale Caesar salad and Cabot soup. $29 for my 3 items but worth it. The service was great.

Had an okay meal here but was a bit underwhelmed. They claimed to have the best mac and cheese in VT which was definitely false, but burgers were pretty good.

So I spied poutine on the menu and told my friend, "Hey, have you had poutine? It's french fries, gravy and cheese curds. What could go wrong with that?" So I poured out two lines of Lipitor on the table top and began to snort them, much to the chagrin of the locals. The poutine was fine. Unfortunately, the mac... More

My wife had soup and salad. She had to ask for bread and it took 15 minutes to be served. My hamburger was good. But service was slow overall. I think they were short of staff.

Ate lunch in the tavern. Very cool atmosphere, service was perfect. Limited menu but I believe something for everyone. Nice local beer special, which seems rare these days. Great stop, highly recommend.

I've been to the tavern several times in the last couple years with my family, always for lunch. It's been very enjoyable each time. The food has been consistently good, the service super friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. It's a place that is always on our short list of places for lunch when we're in town. I definitely recommend... More

We visited for a late lunch as they were preparing for dinner service. The restaurant offers a "bar side" and dining room options, both of which appeared to be clean and well maintained. The menu had a wide variety of traditional pub food with many unusual seasonal and eclectic options added in. Examples include beer cheese soup, Vermont mac and... More
