On first approach, you think you might be walking in the back door of someone's home, which makes your experience at Bert's even more fun. We only stumbled upon this place, staying at the Snowdrift Motel across the street and being recommended by staff at Cactus Cafe. This little bar is small, but's got all the good stuff that you... As in one of other reviews this is the 2nd dive bar in Stowe and that is as far as I know. Food here is good, local nothing organic, fancy or poo poo just plain ole comfort food with drinks. This is the type of bar people on budge visit, there is plenty of parking, the place gets lively, the... More

Loud dive bar with really really good food. They were nervous when we walked in with our kids but made us feel welcome. Again, food was very good. Beer selection was decent.

It is tough to rate Bert's higher than terrible, but it is the best dive bar I've been in recently. If you want to meet really locals (not ski instructors with mugs on the wall), this is the place. The beer selection is adequate although only cheap American beer is cheap. All the other beer prices are average. Shots are... More

We never even made it in the door, 2 barking dogs came at us in an aggressive manner. It reminded us of a bad horror movie. We left.

We called in here whilst staying at the Stowe Motel across the road. The bar has a great atmosphere and is frequented by locals, something you don't get generally if staying in motels etc. We were fortunate that on one of the night s we called in for a night cap they had live music provided by an acoustic guitarist... We found this place while visiting Stowe. It turned out to be a great stop for lunch and some World Cup soccer watching! The food was fantastic. We tried fried chicken and waffles as well as a Columbian dish. Wow... It was all great. We will return if we are back in the area.

The place to stop for a taste of the real Stowe with folks who remember when Stowe was a ski bum party town and the Baggy Knees was a saloon rather than a shopping center...
