Last week while in Stowe, we visited McCarthy's twice for breakfast. In each case, the meal was excellent, and the service was outstanding. In fact, our waitress remembered that they did not have home fries during our first visit, but on our second visit she proclaimed that the home fries were hot and ready before we even sat down. I... We ate breakfast here and had good food served by a great waitress. Unfortunately when she was serving us she was interrupted and told off by the lady who owned the restaurant - wasn't nice and spoilt it for us.

The place was packed on a Sunday morning and we didn't wait long for a table for five, including three kids. So glad we stopped here. Friendly, very casual atmosphere (diner-like), great service and everyone was very happy with their breakfast. Will absolutely stop again, despite no bloody Mary's or mimosas... CASH only, but there's an ATM in the entrance... More

After a bad lodging experience at a nearby pet friendly motel, we opted for a relaxing breakfast then get out of town early. This place was just what my family needed to wipe away a bad Stowe experience and remember why we've been coming back here for 20 years. Great breakfast in a unhurried, relaxing setting.

I am from Jersey so I am used to 24/7 breakfast. This is unheard of in VT. My hotel was right across the street from this gem. Definitely great food and a hometown feel. LOVED IT.

Came here on a Sunday morning, waited about 7 or 8 minutes for a table. The service was great, everyone was very nice. The food was delicious and really well priced. They only take cash, so that is something to keep in mind. But overall really loved everything about this place it's a super cute diner with really great food.

Loved the feel of this authentic Irish restaurant that excels in al things lunch and breakfast. But to me breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So make sure you visit to get your fill of thick French Toast, good coffee, superb eggs and toast.

A fabulous local diner. Great food and great staff. Consistently good! To-die-for pies and Danish! The breakfasts are delicious and they are very accommodating!

long lines during the morning hours of a busy weekend (new years) but well worth it. Great portion sizes for the price. Service is friendly but nothing spectacular, manager however was such a nice guy. Would definitely recommend to those looking for THE breakfast place in Stowe.
