The food was extravagant from start to finish. They offer a great variety of appetizers and entrees which all sound appetizing. I had the skillet chicken with lemon risotto and it was amazing. Their cocktails were really good and they have a great selection of...More

We were chatting with an employee at the Gondola attraction, and he recommended Michael's on the Hill. We decided we would go on our last evening in Stowe. The food was exceptional, and we would definitely go back again. This is an elegant restaurant without...More

We dined at Michael's on the Hill this past Thursday evening. We have been going to Michael's every year on our annual vacation to Vermont for the past 15 years; actually since they opened I think. We have never been disappointed. It is, bar none,...More

Michael's on the Hill is, in my opinion, the best restaurant in the Waterbury/Stowe area. We have been going there since 2002 and have never been disappointed.

Best meal we had on our week vacation. The Moroccan Rabbit was incredible, the Filet was unbelievable, the Chicken was stupendous, the gonococci was second to none, and the trout was indescribable. The service was impeccable and no complaints about any of the experience!

We looked forward to an intimate anniversary dinner. We had nice views of the mountains from our porch table. We chose a nice bottle of wine, which paired nicely with our tasty menu selections. The chef treated us to a 'taste' of an appetizer, as...More

It's a high-end restaurant and the salad was OK, but the chicken entree I had was dreadfully dry and tasteless. It had been rolled up, presumably precooked and then reheated, and ended up being the worst chicken I've ever had a a topnotch place, nothing...More

Our daughter and her soon to be husband booked Michael's on the Hill for their post nuptial wedding celebration dinner. My husband and I went up in March from Boston for a trial run and were very impressed. Food and atmosphere are important to us...More

The food was to die for and well worth the high price. Cocktails were done well. The mac and cheese fritter (chef's special) was superb, well cooked and well spiced. The calamari salad was excellent. The calamari was tender with a nice selection of lettuce,...More

One of those 'we really need to try' restaurants friends have raved about for years. But somewhat of a drive for us in Burlington. Wished we'd been a lot sooner. Staff delightful. (Don't expect advice on wine from waitresses though.) Food choices to please everyone....More

I don't see why not. Stowe in general is very casual & family oriented. This is a special restaurant, enjoy!

Michael's on the Hill is located within a circa 1820 farmhouse, picturesquely set on a hill, with breathtaking views of the Green Mountains. The restaurant can comfortably seat 84 guests, and has a full bar with a piano lounge and outside porch available for dining. We boast a large enclosed wrap-around porch dining room (with a view from each table) and a beautifully renovated barn room where guests may dine in luxury, all the while being reminded of the history of the barn.
Michael's on the Hill emits a sophisticated charm without the pretentious attitude so commonplace in a restaurant with fine food. We offer locally driven, innovative European cuisine and a welcoming, refined atmosphere. When it comes to elements as vital as flavor, taste and preparation, a great respect for the ingredients must exist. As we believe, a chef's ego should never outshine the true stars, the ingredients. Our dishes are innovative, flavorful and fresh, focusing on local ingredients, and created in a European style.
The evening always turns Michael's on the Hill into a romantic, warm, and festive atmosphere for guests to enjoy dinner expertly created by Chef/Owner Michael Kloeti. All dinners start with a warm, linen-wrapped sourdough baguette, sweet butter, and a bowl of marinated olives. Whether sitting near the fire, or on our grapevine-surrounded porch, guests are enveloped in a pleasing comfort, while enjoying the piano and personalized attention. Come for a visit, and allow us to share conversation, hospitality and a bit of home.
