Friendly service, okay food

We stopped here for dinner while staying nearby. We were greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere we'd like. After about 10 minutes, the waiter noticed us, brought over menus, and took our drink orders. Several items were crossed off the menu, and the waiter informed us that a few more options were also no longer available. My husband's tomato soup was creamy, but cold. We ordered meals that came with mashed potatoes, which were also cold. The rest of the food was okay. Everyone working there was extremely friendly and pleasant. I just wish the food was better.

Great service, OK food

Not many places are open for lunch on a Wednesday in Wilmington, and we were happy to find the MLT. Although we saw only one person working the front of the house, she was very efficient and singlehandedly handled the full restaurant. Burgers and sweet potato fries were fine - nothing special.

Hubby and I came in for early dinner one night during our snowboard trip at Mt Snow. After a couple cold beers on draft, hubby ordered the MLT burger and I had the Stuffed Pepper with Chicken. I gotta say food are pretty solid here. The stuffed pepper was delicious.

I dined here on Oct 4th. I have Celiac, so I am not able to eat gluten and if I do, it is very harmful to me as I am allergic to it. I asked the waitress a few questions about items containing gluten. I ordered a turkey burger with a gluten free bun. Upon receiving my check I saw that I was not charged the ridiculous $3.00 upcharge for a GF bun. I asked the waitress about it, she told me that she verbally told the kitchen to use a GF bun. I didn't believe that for a moment. After standing around clearly needing help, someone finally approached and asked what was going on. I explained to him the situation. He brought out their GF bun to see if it looked like what I had eaten, it was not at all what I had. I clearly had been given their gluten filled bun. No one seemed to care, eventually a woman was called over who apologized and said she would credit my card the amount of the burger. She seemed to be completely unaware and not concerned of the damage this causes to my body. This was the FIRST meal of my vacation, I spent the next 5 days in pain and unable to enjoy my trip. I have yet to receive the refund, I have sent an email and have heard nothing back. I have given them ample time to make this right. At this time I am looking into reporting them to the board of health. DO NOT EAT HERE if you have Celiac!

The waiter told us "Don't come back"

If I could have, I would have spoken to a manager or an owner but unfortunately, there was nobody I could tell this to so I'll do it here. I've been coming to this restaurant 1 to 2 times a month for two years now. Tonight there was a new waiter on. He took our order without writing anything down. We ordered our usual appetizer, wings. My wife ordered a burger with cheese and mushrooms and I ordered the skirt steak but I asked if I could have fries. The waiter said mashed potatoes or rice. I asked for rice. The first problem was that a side of mashed potatoes came to our table and no appetizer. We said we didn't know what that was and so they took it back. We didn't receive the wings but when the entrées came we asked about them and he said they were coming right out. The burger came with no cheese or mushrooms. The steak came with mash potatoes, no rice. We didn't say anything and just ate our meal but we were still waiting for the wings. Finally, when we had both finished our meals the waiter came with the wings. We told him to send them back. He came out of the kitchen and said that he wasn't going to take them off the bill and we had to have them. We said absolutely not and he said, "ok, I'll take them off the bill but never come back". When I asked if I could speak to a manager he told me there was nobody to speak to. After this experience, I would not come back but based on what this waiter said, the restaurant doesn't want us back. So we will accommodate. Its too bad because the food is usually good. But the owner must have enough customers that he can just get rid of loyal regulars. To the owner: this is why restaurants fail. You give the customer one bad experience and they never return. Do that to enough customers and you don't have a business anymore.

Thank goodness they are open on Tuesday

Trying to did a place to eat in this town on Tuesday’s can be difficult…..however, they are open 6 days a week including Tuesday…..we enjoyed a good lunch. Husband enjoyed the chili and I had a delicious house salad with chicken added. Our waitress was hustling because they were short staffed but she was very hospitable. The menu has lots of different options and they have daily food and beverage specials. If you find yourself in Wilmington and need a bite to eat……be sure and stop.

Horrible customer service, left in tears

I ordered takeout here to celebrate my birthday last night (6/12). I ordered at 7:29pm with my food being promised at 7:59pm. As I was on my way to get my order, I received an email saying that the order had never been confirmed by the restaurant, although, I had been charged for it at 7:29. We called to ask and they told us that the order was in their system but they had forgotten to confirm it so it was going to be another 30-40 minutes. This was upsetting as we had placed our order at 7:29 and didn't receive it until 8:40. When I arrived to pick it up, I very kindly explained my situation and asked the manager if I could have either a full refund or at least a refund on half of my order. She said that she felt that was not fair but that she would give me a 20% refund and said she would "only take 20% of the responsibility” for her mistake, implying I was at fault for the other 80% of her mistake and continued to blame me for it. I showed her the email I received confirming the order was placed at 7:29pm and promised at 7:59pm and she refused to accept that and kept telling me it wasn’t her fault. She couldn’t figure out how to issue a refund so she walked away and left me waiting for another 20 minutes just to tell me she was unable to issue a partial refund (although she could have issued a full refund but again refused). She had me write down my information for her boss to call me the next morning (it is now noon and I still haven’t received a call) and walked away for another 5 minutes. By the time I left with my food it was 9:10pm and the food was cold. I have been working in the restaurant business for 7 years, I understand that it was a Saturday night, but taking over an hour to make a meal that was supposed to be ready in 30 minutes and then blaming the customer and refusing to take responsibility is absurd. The way I was treated by the manager of this restaurant was totally uncalled for, she was rude, abrasive, and just plain mean. I left this place in tears on my birthday because of how poorly I was treated. I will never be back and I hope others have a better experience than I did, although, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. How this woman became the manager of a restaurant with zero customer services skills is beyond me.

Will not return!!

My husband and I went there for dinner while visiting Wilmington on our 25th wedding anniversary. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and when it was delivered it was a turkey burger. I told the waitress I did not order a turkey burger and could she please bring me my cheeseburger. She took it back and we waited about 30 minutes for my cheeseburger. When she brought it, the fries were not with it and I was advised they would be out shortly. When I went to eat my cheeseburger, the bun was cold and hard. I did not eat it and we paid the bill and left. Will not go there again!

Took a very long time

Came in for lunch on a Sunday. Appeared to be only one waitress and no bartender. She greeted us quickly got our drinks and app out at a reasonable pace. Lunch however took well over an hour. She didn’t come by to let us know anything for 40 or so minutes. Traveling with a hungry child, and this taking an hour and a half for spaghetti a blt and tacos, was not an enjoyable experience. Food was mediocre. Very disappointing

I am very sorry that you did not have a good experience dining with me. Right now we do not have any bar seating and are at 50% capacity that is why we only have 1 server during the day and 2 at night. Unfortunately our Chef has a family emergency so we had limited staff in the kitchen. Food normally would not take that long. If I didn’t communicate with you correctly I sincerely apologize for that. Also sorry you did not enjoy your meal we would love to try again and hope that you can enjoy your food for we have an excellent reputation for our food items. Please ask for me Diana if you choose to come back and I will personally make sure your experience is pleasurable.

Great Service and Food in the Age of Covid

We have been ordering food and beers from the Maple Leaf during Coronavirus quarantine and it has been a great experience. Robin is the kindest, friendliest host and the food has not gone down in quality since they have had to resort to curbside service only. We love the MLT burger and any tots you order will blow your mind, our cheesy tots were crispy even with a coating of cheese on them, amazing! If you are new to the area, try a Focal Banger beer with your meal, Vermont's finest beer served by Vermont's finest people. :)

Stopped for dinner on a Thursday evening. They were busy with in house diners and lots of people stopping for take out orders. The young lady working the dining area greeted us promptly. We were served in a reasonable amount of time given the number of patrons. They offer a variety of items on the menu sure to satisfy most tastes. They also offer a good selection of locally brewed beers. Within easy walking distance of several lodging options.

Amazing food and service - so friendly

I am renting a house in Wilmington for the winter season and MLT is one of our "Go To" restaurants for fun and delicious food. I celebrated my 50th birthday here and was treated like a queen!! The Mac N Cheese is DELICIOUS and is enough food for lunch the next day!! My daughter can't get enough of the pasta and meatballs!! The "Vermonster" Burger should be a restaurant competition - it is two burger patties!! My nephew ate it in five minutes. The food i delicious and the staff are incredibly nice. It's got that "Cheers" feeling.

Good thing I'm not a big beer drinker! The portions and food quality is good, and the bar used to be a nice place to hang out . Not sure it's allowed to be open at the moment, but dining is, by reservation. I'd avoid take-out, though the rendition of Greek Chicken may knock yer sox off - delish!

Great food and drink, good stop for families too!

Fantastic food and drinks, we enjoyed everything and had a wide variety of food and drink. They have some great pasta plates sized for sharing. We had all of the cocktails that were unique and endorse the maple kiss martini. The salmon dish was good ...crispy on the outside and delicious. Try the tater tots they stack then with some good options. We skipped dessert so we can't offer an opinion on them.

MLT is definitely worth a visit if your travels take you to lovely Wilmington. The food is fresh, nicely prepared with good flavors. They also offer a nice selection of local beers on tap. The service is courteous and friendly.
