Enjoyed a delicious dinner with family at The Anchor!! Warm and cozy atmosphere. Good was delicious! Good seafood from salad and chowder to dinner! Will return when in the area again!

We were leaf peeping and stopped here for lunch. We both got the half sandwich with the chowder. Excellent. Just enough. Waitress was friendly and provided excellent service.

We went without a reservation and had to sit at the bar but we enjoyed it. A very cute restaurant but also quite busy. We split the seared ahi tuna appetizer which was the best part of our meal! Our entree which was the stuffed...shrimp was just average. I would try something else next time, but overall the food was good.More

As far as Wilmington is from the coast I wasn't expecting such an exceptional meal. The lobster roll was just what a good lobster roll should be - fresh and simple. Tasty clam chowder. The staff worked together seamlessly to get food out quickly.

We stayed in a B&B close by that made dinner reservations for us. The hostess seated us right away. The place was packed and noisy. We got stuck with a waiter (Larry) who thought himself to be a funny character. We ordered and Larry did...not write anything down. The one thing that the restaurant got right was a roll & a salad (which Larry threw at us from some height). My husband order Parmesan Sole (it came as a flat piece of white fish covered in a horrible brown sauce floating in oil or water from the summer squash & zucchini). My husband, who never complains, took two bites and shoved the plate away. I ordered Baked Stuffed Shrimp (which I got 4 of the smallest shrimp you have ever seen and lots of breading; also with summer squash & zucchini ("raw"--not cooked long enough); and I ordered rice, but I received garlic potatoes. I complained and was told,"sorry you had a bad experience." We paid $49.45 for a terrible meal and terrible service. My advice: go someplace else for dinner!More

Ate here on a Saturday night. Place is noisy, people trying to talk over each other. Wait staff is attentive. Food was just fair. Tasted like prepackaged food not home made. It was fine, we just expected more with the reviews on Tripadvisor.

Had dinner here one night. Wife had rack of Lamb which was very good, meat fell off the bone. I had the baked stuffed shrimp which were dissapointing. Not very tasty and brought out in about 15 minutes. If you have worked in a kitchen...you know it takes longer for real baked stuffed shrimp done fresh, must have microwaved or something, I don't know but taste was not what I expected, maybe a bad night, who knows. Pleasant staff.More

Our visit was on a Wednesday night in August. The restaurant was full to capacity, but we previously made a reservation. We were quickly seated, and within five minutes Larry, our waiter was at the table taking our drink order. We both ordered seafood, which...was one of the best meals we ever had, (and we live on the coast in New England). I cannot say enough about their awesome seafood, the owners attention to detail, and the comedy Larry provided for us during dinner. We cannot wait to return!More

We too were lucky enough to get Larry as our waiter - we didn't expect free entertainment with our meal! The restaurant is a bit noisy and crowded but the food is awesome and the service was excellent. Our group of four had delicious dinners...and would definitely return!More

Go early. The place gets crowded. Good clam chowder. The mussels were terrific! Main courses come with a fresh salad and sometimes a side. The salmon was good but, as many restaurants do, it was over cooked. The stuffed haddock was excellent.
