I ate several meals here including breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner 2 nights. I recommend the restaurant on its own, and when you throw in the excellent freindly staff and the awesome views it is a killer combo. Well wroth stopping for even if you arent staying at the Lodge

A great restaurant ! Best fried chicken, ever. Friendly staff. Beautiful view of a mountain, and a lake. Located on the beautiful scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. People come here from all over.

Went for lunch. Pleasant setting. Ordered medium cheeseburger. It came out overdone and tasteless. Waitress ignored us.

Food is good. Staff is great. It is great for families as well as a romantic dinner for two. The views of the water is awesome from all the tables.

We had a seat by the window and were able to dine to the view of a moonlit lake. The food was diversified and delicious. There were many choices at the buffet.

The dining area over looks the lake beautiful and relaxing..My husband got the boiled catfish and I got meatloaf both were very good. The hummus was homemade and served with veggies and pita bread...Breakfast was 13$ per person for the buffet, it was descent. Waffle maker, eggs, sausage bacon etc.

We ate breakfast twice which was good. Dinner menu not very extensive. We all liked our meals but went into Bedford the other two nights. Cobblers were very good.

Went the end of October for brunch. Long line to get in. Long line for breakfast foods. Went for lunch. Line wasn't as long, but food was okay. Salad, fried chicken, clams and shrimp, brisket. Nothing tasted spectacular. View is beautiful. Had a woman playing an zither and singing. I have stayed in the lodge before. Typical lodge. Was clean.

Good lodge, great views, we spent three nights and found the rooms good and location and views of Sharptop and Lake inspiring. The restaurant is poor however.

We did not know Peaks of Otter existed until we stumbled on to it while driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway. From the moment we walked in we knew we had found something special. We walked up to the front desk and we were greeted by a very friendly staff that was eager to help us. I was traveling with... More

As old as the hills . . . The Peaks of Otter have drawn settlers and travelers to the region for more than 8,000 years. The community whose vestiges remain to be explored today had its beginning in 1766 when Thomas Wood arrived from Pennsylvania. The wife of one of Wood’s descendants would open her home as the area’s first lodging for travelers in 1834. By the late 1800s, Peaks of Otter would be home to some 20 families, a school, a church, and a resort hotel. In the mid 1900s, the location was selected for special attention as the National Parks Service developed recreation and service areas along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Abbott Lake was constructed and the Peaks of Otter Lodge opened in 1964.Today, we invite you to be part of the future of this storied natural and cultural destination as it continues to attract visitors and travelers in the 21st century.
