If you haven't had brunch here, you need to go ASAP. The breakfast tacos are amazing. The Waffle Taco is excellent (though getting smaller I feel), the biscuits and gravy are so good...the Guatemalan Breakfast is excellent. Also, they have great Bloody Mary's. They have had their bumps in the road through the years (and sometimes still), but I feel... More

Very unique place. Came here for brunch. Had the grande burrito and it lived up to its name. So good so delicious and I'm so full. Service was great as well.

Boyfriend previously ate here and was excited to take me. Cute place with nice decor but honestly could not enjoy our meal. I'm a server myself and the service was awful. I understand being busy and hectic. But, we waited 15 minutes for the initial greeting, wrong food was bought, and the quality of drinks/food was poor. I was so... More

Located over in Belmont area of Charlottesvile, they have indoor and outside dining. Limited parking, but in Belmont, there are lots of nearby side streets so you won't have to walk far. Central American style foods and competitively priced (the Castro turkey sandwich was under $10). Service while friendly, was ok, but exceptional.

What struck me most about this place is that the menu features dishes that you won't find elsewhere, and it was nice to find Caribbean, Mexican and Latin American under the same roof. We had coconut shrimp and nachos with chicken as starters, then oxtail over rice and beans, palm heart salad, veggie quesadilla, and a Caribbean jerk chicken. Well-presented,... More

The service is slow, unpolished but sweet. They need more service staff. The drinks and food are excellent. The outdoor patio had a nice feeling. The duck tacos are worth trying. The mescal mule is excellent. I could live without the patrons who brought their puppy. They were strange and rude but that is tough for a restaurant to control.... More

We had a group of six, and we were all very pleased with our selections. The food quality was very good to excellent, and there is sufficient variety in the menu to explore different options.

The disappointment of finding a local BBQ joint closed was largely offset by trying La Taza instead. Very attractive and clean Carribean decor with really nice burl wood tables and delicious coffee. I enjoyed an excellent, traditional Cuban sandwich while my spouse said her grilled veggie wrap was great. We will likely return !

Met a friend here for brunch on a recent Sunday to catch up. It was crowded but managed to get a table fairly quickly. However, it was extremely noisy and difficult to have a conversation. The tables are a bit quirky (natural slices of tree trunks) and space is at a premium for food/drink. The bloody Mary was fantastic but... More

I do hope you'll try us again sometime, because I wish you'd have left your first visit already excited for your next brunch with us. We do get fairly busy for brunch, but I'm disappointed that may have gotten in the way of some of the conversation with your friend. As for the Huevos Rancheros, they should absolutely be just... Last night, my husband and I were looking for a bite to eat and outdoor seating. Instead of going to the Downtown Mall, we walked to Belmont. The restaurant choices are terrific and the atmosphere is lively. We went to La Taza and had a really great time. The fire pit was going the the outdoor seating was comfortable because... More

"Pretty as a birthday cake" has to be one of the best compliments I've ever read. Hope you'll make it back our way, so thank you for getting in touch here and elsewhere... More
