We were visiting for the weekend and staying nearby. We stopped in several tines for water, snacks, and wine. Nice selections for all and really friendly staff!

This market makes me feel like I'm back living in a city again. Walkable from downtown, or right on the #7 bus line. Carries a well-curated selection of products, from high-end (deli sandwiches, artisan breads, wines), to bodega favorites (Bustelo coffee, PBRs *and* craft beers), organic and natural foods, and every day stuff (toilet paper, cigarettes). Prices are a bit... More

No this is not a romantic destination; yes, it is a local, small market and a great lunch spot or a great spot to get a good cup of joe. There are a variety of sandwiches made up fresh and a few tables in the front of the market where you can grab a table and enjoy your food without... More

The Market Street Market is amazing! It has a large and delicious selection of fresh and prepared foods. A huge stand out is their fresh baked bread. There packaged goods and wines are first-rate and the pricing is very fair. Sooooo glad they are downtown.

I'm so happy that in the age of Costco and Wegmans, a 5-aisle market manages to stock every single thing one might need. And at the same time, the pricing seems very fair. Love the following: salmon salad, rotisserie chickens, grass-fed beef (very reasonably priced), beer and wine selection, great local apple selection, fresh baked ciabatta and baguettes, and amazing... Lucky to be able to walk here #1. Primary visit this morning was for Drano (oh fun) and milk, walked in when unloading fresh locally grown corn on the cob (7/20/16) so of course ended buying some and fresh tomatoes (oh so much better than the chain stores) and then had to get a lox w cream cheese on english... Just moved, still in process of moving, to Cville and found this on my walks with our dog, have purchased household goods, vino and this am jumped on it as not crowded at 8:45am, bought breakfast sandwich, of which you can create your own, and their lox sandwich for later. Everyone there super nice, thank you John, will be back... More

So the thing about Market Street Market is that it's a market like a real one. And you can do your shopping there. Or you can go and get sandwiches (really good ones) and go and picnic somewhere or carry out and have a lunch. But my favorite thing to do is to get a loaf of their French bread... More

Nice little grocery just off the Main Street pedestrian mall. Good (small) selection of a variety of items. They have organics which was nice. They had organic sliced loaves of bread which is nice and not always easy to find.

Incredible place with great food and great prices plus they have wonderful specials and salads every day. If you like a certain product they will try to get it and stock it for you.
