Two other friends and I went for dinner and did not know it was restaurant week. (Happens twice a year in Charlottesville). This is when many restaurants in town have a few options that are really special for appetizers, main course and dessert. A portion of the proceeds goes to a charity in town. We could have ordered off the... More

I've been going to Charlottesville long enough that I remember when this space WAS a filling station! Imagine my delight when I had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious pizza dinner there on my latest trip to Charlottesville! We started our meal with the Sesame Cheese Bread - amazing! And the olive oil served with the dish was in a... More

My husband and I stopped in for lunch after seeing the reviews. My husband had the Cuban sandwich which we both found it to be delicious. Going for a lite lunch, I had the hummus platter with grilled vegetables and flat bread from the oven but couldn't finish it so took it to go. All in all, we had very... More

We love the look and convenient location of this spot, but the food is just not good. We ordered pizza and a salad and both were not edible. If you just want a drink, it is a nice location, but don't get there hungry.

Hi Catc1966! Thanks for compliments on the look and the location, but I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the food here. Seeing the date of your visit, I would guess it may be because we had just reopened and well, it took us some time to get our feet under us. Hopefully you will give us another chance and... More

Fry's Spring seems like a natural place to go for dinner and a beer before a UVa basketball and you would think that arriving at 5:30 for a 7:00 game would allow plenty of time. But when there's a 5-7 min wait to get seated with no one in line and plenty of open tables...and then the server doesn't return... More

Hi Louiedog, I am so disappointed to hear of your slow service at Fry's Spring Station this past Tuesday. Management is fully aware that the restaurant was not able to function per our standards that night, due to a number of factors, and I am very sorry your experience suffered for it. Please consider giving us another try, before a... More

Went here on a recommendation and glad we did. Place is really cool having been a service station prior. There is outside seating and you can even sit at the bar from the outside. We chose inside. Had the fresh pulled mozzarella with pita as an appetizer and it was terrific. Would actually go back and order that as a... More

Had OpenTable reservations for after a football game here. Couldn't find a parking space anywhere so I called to cancel. The manager called me back and told me to park in the back behind his car. That impressed me...obviously, customer service is important to Fry's Spring. So, we were late for our reservations but our table was ready. Was crowded... More

On a recent visit to Charlottesville, we ate at Fry Spring Station with two different groups of friends a few days apart. Both visits were very good or bordering on exceptional. This converted gas station has changed both ownership and menu style this past year to the great benefit of local diners in foodie crazy Charlottesville. We enjoyed several different... More

Great place for a bite before Saturday's game. Nice beer list. Appetizers were shareable and the sandwiches were delicious. Sat outside and enjoyed the people watching. Would definitely go back to try the flatbread. There were 9 of us and the server did a great job keeping up with our drinks and food.

We stopped here for a late lunch at about 1:30pm. We were seated immediately and service was prompt. We each had a "small" salad with added meat. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of salmon with my Caesar salad. Both salads were very good and were more than enough for lunch even though we were ravenous. The Firestone milk... More

Description
Now serving up fire roasted pizza, manciatta, paninis, pasta and more (with gluten-free pizza available), Fry's Spring Station is a restaurant that stays true to its service-friendly roots. The 1931 building that served as Fry's Spring Service Station for 70 years is now home to fresh gourmet food. Our version of Fry's Station is designed to be as delicious as it is service-driven.
