Good Friday night hangout with friends. Very good bar scene. Good service. Didn't eat but the food looked great too.

We had lunch here twice, and my husband had lunch here on his own. Vegetarian offerings were delicious, although this is not their focus.
Not sure what makes it Irish, but for a Saturday lunch, sitting by the window for people watching and sunlight, this place provided an enjoyable and satisfying meal. The quesadilla was tasty (nice combo of vegetables including corn and black beans), the fried chicken sandwich was uniquely delicious (cole slaw and pimento cheese?), and the vegetarian burger was a hit... Had a business meeting here. First, it is at The Corner, so parking and traffic is rough. Definitely a majority college crowd, but not a college bar feel, and not really a pub feel. The food here is good for a bar, with a good variety of pub type fare. Was a little shocked that a pint of Guiness was... More
I came in one afternoon, I heard they had a good ruben, you bet your sweet bippy they did. One of the owners heard me talking about being from Iowa. He went to U of I, the ruben was one of the best ever, they have this cider I think is home brewed that with a double of JD Katie... More
Parking is a nightmare as well with any corner restaurant, but the food is good. Lunch specials are a good choice if you want an alternative to the hospital cafe.
Three of the four of us have traveled to Ireland, and while it looks Irish (in many ways), its not really (someone needs to tell them Manchester is not in Ireland).OK, that aside, it does have an old world UK feel, especially the bar and tables. After a self guided tour of UVA, we found our way to the pub... More
When we travel, we always look for Irish pubs. We were staying in Charlottesville and as were were on the Virginia University campus, we decided to try it. I think they had 2 Irish beers and nothing closed to Irish food on their menu! My food was OK, but I was really looking for something they didn't have. Guess the... More
The absolute poorest excuse for something eatable I could have imagined. I did not have high expectations for a BBQ sandwich on the lunch menu of an "Irish" pub but what I received fell far short of even that. Ridiculously dried out shredded meat with a drizzle of sauce over it. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!
We met a friend who works at the UVa hospital and she said she usually sees this place at happy hour or in the evening and it's packed with people. This was a late afternoon / early dinner and the outside seating area was crowded but we chose to sit inside where it was empty. That might be why the... More
