Three different people suggested this as a breakfast destination and it didn't disappoint. We did arrive early on a Saturday am and were seated promptly. I had the Duchess which was a version of eggs bennedict with avocado hollandaise...to die for!!! Plan a big walk after breakfast.

If you plan to go on the weekend, either arrive early or be prepared to wait . Hint - put your name on the notepad on the wall inside the front door to be on the waiting list. The place is very small and many people stand in the doorway waiting to add their name to a list without understanding... More

Loved The Norman! Great food, very extensive menu. Went back 2 days in a row. We were tempted by their bacon sides and they were wonderful. Bluegrass music in the background. This is a low-key local hangout and we could see why. Yum on the food!

This was our second visit to the Bluegrass Grill and Bakery. And I have no idea why I ordered the Hungry Norman, because really, blackberry jam, goat cheese, sausage links, poached eggs, Hollandaise and an English muffin barely sound like they belong on the same plate together, much on top of each other. But oh my goodness, it was delicious!... More

Yes, the wait is long and the place is very small, but if you have patience, your patience will be rewarded with very good breakfast menu.

I always try to get to Bluegrass Grill when I visit C'ville. It is one of my top 5 breakfasts in the US...I travel about 2 weeks a month, so this is important to me. The food is always so good and it was this way on this visit too. We got in early, which is critical for this restaurant...especially... More

You really want Bluegrass Grill to be a friendly and hospitable place. Folks in Charlottesville have been exceedingly generous over the years in their praise and support of this popular breakfast spot. But the long waits, combined with indifferent, sometimes rude service, along with a memorable morning two years ago when Christy the owner slammed her hand down on the... More

For breakfast or brunch, this is truly one of the best places I have ever eaten. The Corned Beef Hash is out of this world! French toast is another favorite and their coffee is wonderful. The only negative thing about this place is that they have about 20 seats, so if you're not there 30 minutes before they open, you... More

Friends recommended this hole-in-the-wall diner and after giving it a try our friendship is cemented. Bluegrass Grill serves breakfast and lunch, they recently added brunch-type adult beverages to their menu. Their food menu is typically of diners but they also have a daily or week flyer-type menu which includes my favorite; The Freight train which is possibly named for the... More

We were in C-Ville for parents weekend at UVA and we had heard about this restaurant. So glad heeded the advice to get there before it opens!! We arrived a few minutes before 8 am and there was a small crowd of happy people there, waiting for it to open. We were seated promptly and had our coffee served first... More
