Group of eight met on a Friday night for drinks and dinner. Happy hour prices on libations. Had fried oysters for starter followed by crab cakes, grits & green veg. All well prepared. Others had steak, bone in pork chop, & fish. Food was excellent. Wait staff very personal attentive without being pushy. Try some of the chef's specials. Parking... More

Great place for dinner. The fish was perfect, the service was very good and had the most amazing dessert - Honey and sea salt cheesecake. A place to come back!

Loved, loved, loved the food at Maya. Four of us dined here, and none were disappointed. The setting is relaxed and the service was great. My highlight was the side of brussel sprouts and we all enjoyed the duck and pound cake starter. We weren't expecting comfort food but it's certainly what was served to us. Loved every bite.

Very neat atmosphere and great service for our dinner. The cheese biscuits and the pimento cheese fritters were tremendous. Those appetizers are a must! The fish got rave reviews, and my ribs were very good and tender. The pork tenderloin was a mixed review. One serving was center-portion and juicy, the other was dry and probably end-portion. Great dessert, too.... More

Maya's was just the right place to celebrate Thanksgiving for a small family in Charlottesville on vacation. We opened with oysters and delicious fritters as the first course before enjoying a traditional turkey meal with all of the trimmings. Mud pie on and one side of the table and pumpkin pie on the other filled out a tasty meal. A... More

We had a phenomenal meal at Maya on 1/1/2017! The fried pimento balls & crab soup were a treat. The flavors of our main courses were magnificent; the pork tenderloin & 2x trout. The staff was great, even short staffed due to the holiday which made the service slow, the quality of our meal and their pleasant demeanor more than... More

We had such a great time at Maya. The place is very warm and welcoming, comfortable but not formal. I love the fact that you can pick your side dishes, a choice that was very difficult but based on the ones we chose, you couldn't really go wrong. We started with the pimiento cheese fritters which were fabulous on their... More

Absolutely superb. Prompt, friendly waitstaff. Expertly prepared farm-to-table fare. The bavette steak and pork tenderloin were perfectly cooked. Best collards I've had anywhere, hands down, and killer grits.

Was looking for some good southern food and this was recommended by hotel staff. Good, but not great. The fried oysters were tasty but not memorable. As an appetizer, however, it was quite large and could have sufficed as a meal. The grilled trout, which drew raves from other reviewers on TA, seemed a bit dry and really didn't have... More

The food was delicious but it would be better if there were more menu choices. The cocktails were hit or miss, a couple were great, and there was agreement that a couple were awful. Service from our waiter and the other waitstaff could not have been any friendlier or better.
