Beautiful historic home being carefully restored as an inn and a first-class restaurant. Highly recommended for fine dining. Not stuffy, just elegant.

Date Night Thursday happened to also be a birthday event. This Thursday offering provides great cuisine even without their broader menu. Corn chowder or house salad both were tried, both were very fine. Pork Medallions as a main course proved a winner. Staff most excellent.

This is the first time we've been here since new ownership. Nothing has changed except the addition of a Kureg coffee maker in the upstairs mezzanine. Two steps out my door and I can bring coffee back into my room, or grab a bottle of...More

I enjoyed three meals here as an overnight guest at the Joshua Wilton House during a recent business trip. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what they do. They are not recent adapters of the farmer-to-table trend. They are pioneers and leaders, and...More

We ate there last night and had the BEST waiter, Jake. On Thursday nights, they have "Date Night", which is a special menu, with appetizer, entrée and a shared desert at a reduced price, which was a real bargain. They also reduce the prices of...More

Lovely upscale atmosphere in a great old Victorian home. The brunch menu was limited but the food was very good and the service was excellent. We did not stay at the Inn so I can't comment on the rooms.

This is a very well managed B&B with a first class restaurant. Their service is friendly, professional and prompt. The food is beyond expectation and can only be described as "gourmet". They try to use local resources for a lot of their food and wines...More

We arrived on a cold day to this charming Victorian era Inn located in the historic district of the town. We were warmly greeted. Check in was easy and our room was lovely. Painted light shade of lavender, the room was bright with three large...More

I hosted a celebratory reception and dinner for JMU faculty, students, and professionals at the JWH. Bill and Logan, restaurant manager and general manager respectively, did everything in their power to make sure our event went smoothly and beautifully. The food was amazing and the...More

It is my understanding that a transition in ownership is taking place. Knowing who are expected to be the new owners, given their outstanding track record, I expect it will regain its status as an excellent venue.

Description
Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.
