We went for lunch and got the pulled pork sandwich special. The BBQ was so so ,and the bun was rock hard. The sides were not good either,I would have left home earlier if Grandmothers potato salad tasted like that.

My husband and I had dinner here with a group of ten friends while we were attending a Navy Reunion. A member of our group had eaten here in the past and recommended it for BBQ. The restaurant was very uncrowded on a weekday eve....More

Let me start by saying that I visited this location on a Friday evening around 6pm. It wasn't busy. I should have picked up on this and left, but I didn't... Let me start with the good - the restaurant has a nice outdoor dining...More

Wanted bbq and a place that was family friendly to meet friends for a late lunch. Maybe they do better on weekdays but they were slow... the food was mediocre... there are better food options. Go elsewhere and save your bbq experience for somewhere better....More

3 of us ate here 2:30 pm on Sunday. For the place not being busy there was more trash on the floor than should be expected. Booth seats were worn down & some ripped. We opted for a table. Order was taken promptly. Food was...More

This barbeque place has a wide variety of meats to select from. I had a selection of pulled pork, brisket and sausage. Having worked in Kansas comparing this smoke House wouldn't be fair. It's an average quality food. The pulled pork was just okay. The...More

Waiter was nice, but food was not worth what we paid. The stew needs to have shrewd ed instead of large pieces. The chicken and brisket on the salad was dry and taste less.

This will be my first and only visit. The first clue should've been the fact that they were empty on a Friday evening. I ordered a platter that was advertised to come with BBQ beans and cole slaw, but when I got home, I discovered...More

Always a crowd pleaser. Everyone I introduce to this chain seems to come away satisfied. Relaxed atmosphere; friendly and efficient service; good carnivore fare. I like the beef brisket but often get the Brunswick stew for a good sampling of everything in the kitchen. They...More

Description
Red Hot and Blue is a full-service, casual-themed restaurant chain and caterer featuring delicious award-winning ribs, Memphis-style barbeque, smoked wings, and Southern sides and desserts. The atmosphere is steeped in legendary and contemporary blues music and delivers a large dose of Southern hospitality in a fun and entertaining dining environment. History: The first Red Hot and Blue restaurant opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1988, started by Lee Atwater, Don Sundquist and friends. Don Sundquist was from Memphis and served in the House of Representatives and as governor of Tennessee. The late Lee Atwater was an amateur blues musician and political figure that managed George H.W. Bush's successful race for the presidency. These men were friends who longed for authentic Memphis-style barbeque and great blues music. Unable to find that combination anywhere in the Washington, DC area they decided the only way to get it done was to open a restaurant of their own. The Memphis-style barbeque chain celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 by partnering with a charitable organization at 24 different restaurant locations. The yearlong celebration culminated in the presentation of thousands of dollars in donations to local charities. The Name: The name, "Red Hot and Blue" is taken from the title of D.J. Dewey Phillip's radio show that that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. This radio show launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray and Rufus Thomas. Red Hot & Blue Dine-In, Take-Out and Catering. Hickory-smoked Memphis-style BBQ, Ribs, Wings, Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Seafood, Full-service Bar, in a Family-friendly atmosphere with a heapin' helpin' of Southern Hospitality!
