We tried 3 dining venues in the area during our stay in Irvington. Without doubt or hesitation, the Dining Hall at the Hope & Glory Inn was the best. We were fortunate to be the only guests the night we dined there. Our service was exceptional and the food was outstanding. My wife enjoyed a baked oyster appetizer (no surprise)... More

What can I say about dining at the Hope and Glory Inn? While the Inn is based on the school that used to be located there, the dining room is certainly nothing like any school cafeteria I have ever known!!! Each course is carefully paired with a wonderful wine, and is beautifully presented. And, most importantly, each course is absolutely... More

Food and service was outstanding, waited on attentively but not over attentive. Chef came out to describe the courses, see if we had preferences and later to insure we enjoyed.

My wife and I were staying nearby at the Tides Inn and came here for dinner. The food was wonderful, the service was professional and informative and the pace and atmosphere were relaxed. This was one of the best overall dinner experiences we have had in quite a while.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner because we were staying at the inn, but we'd come back again just for the dinner. They serve a fixed menu, but I noticed several accommodations for people around us, so I wouldn't worry if you have allergies, just mention them when making reservations. Every course of our meal was perfection and their wines... More

We had a great meal at Hope & Glory, while staying down the road at the Tides Inn. Fixed price dinner ($68 I think) includes four courses, which they tell you in advance, when you reserve. If you have any food problems, they arrange to substitute something else in your meal. For example, I don't eat oysters, so they asked... More

When we arrived, Peggy, the owner, greeted us at the front door. (We had stayed at the Hope & Glory several times in 2003.) She immediately let the friends we were meeting know that we were there and we all had delicious cocktails in front of the roaring fire in the Hope & Glory living room. Promptly at 6:30, our... My husband and I have been coming here for years and we absolutely love it here. Hope and Glory has a charm to it that is unparalleled. For our Anniversary we brought our sons, who are 14 and 11. I would not recommend this restaurant to families with young kids. As always the service was impeccable and the meal fantastic.... More

This is a prix fixe, set-menu establishment. It's an old schoolhouse turned into an inn. My (kinda picky) kids were skeptical about that, but the food was amazing. Roasted oysters, summer salad with mint-infused watermelon, crab cakes with spoonbread and lots of local veg, lemon mousse. All sounds simple but was executed so well, really special food (and I don't... More
