The Wayside Inn in Middletown, VA has been around I believe since the 1700's and the restaurant itself is a beautifully preserved historical gem with a unbelievable ambiance. You get the feeling of dining in an 1800's tavern. That in itself would rate 5 stars....More

Absolutely the worst dining out Thanksgiving dinner experience ever. It was so bad I don't even know where to begin. First, This place obviously can't handle big events like Thanksgiving. They weren't ready for our party of six when we arrived on time, 2:15 for...More

I thought this was going to be such a great place to lunch with a friend but we were disappointed. The food was just okay, lunch menu is limited and the service not great. The building still has amazing character but sadly the dining experience...More

The Wayside Inn is a great place stop whether you are coming for drinks, lunch/dinner, or staying over in the historical inn. The Wayside is an original structure that has been there since the 1700's! The atmosphere is incredible and set in the 1700's but...More

My party went for dinner several Saturdays ago. No one helped us be seated till a tippsy customer acted as hostess. Felt like a bar. Sounded like a bar. The dining room was closed so we were seated in a very nice room just off...More

Stopped at Wayside Inn's Larrick's Tavern for a light evening meal and some vino--it was GREAT! Our server Lacey was a delight! (Highly recommend their jalapeno poppers.) Didn't realize that it was karaoke night...fun, fun, fun!!! Will plan to get together with a group of...More

We were staying at the Inn and appreciated not having to drive to go out to dinner. The food was good, my husband reported that the crab cakes were quite good. They don’t have much for vegetarians (not really their fault, we just need more...More

Very interesting historical place, liked touring the Inn. Staff very helpful, and attentive. I ordered the Rib Eye, medium rare, but it was well done and dry, disappointed. Hubby ordered the crab cakes which he said were very good. Would probably go again, but would...More

This was my first visit to the restaurant. The food was very good. I was told that they have just brought in a new chef. The historic atmosphere really makes this a unique place to visit.

Contact the Wayside Inn but whatever they are serving would be worth it- we enjoyed our meals there!

Dine in the Colonial Days. Historic good taste is the specialty of the Inn, with authentic Regional American Cuisine available with advanced notice to larger groups in one of our antique filled dining rooms.

This week we're open on Friday at 4 PM and Saturday & Sunday at noon with a pub-style menu. We'll be closed from Monday through Wednesday during the winter.

We plan to expand our dining options to include a Sunday Brunch and other dining opportunities but the tavern is the only dining currently open.

If you have a group of 15 or more we will cater to your dining needs with options available for any budget.

For cocktails, the Coachyard Lounge welcomes you to relax where horse-drawn carriages once entered the inn.
