My wife and I went to that restaurant in Sunday afternoon. A short drive for us. We loved it. Small, quaint, and friendly. A long time establishment in Monterey. What did I have? Tea, salad, green beans, mashed potatoes and half of a chicken that was...More

After spending a few hours driving the winding roads of Route 250, it was approaching lunchtime, we spotted this quaint restaurant and decided to stop in. We selected a booth, even though tables were available. It was a reminder of what eateries looked like growing...More

Average food. Easter Sunday special was $12.95. Consisted of ham, two sides and cake for dessert. Ordered unsweetened tea, got sweetened! Waitress said the sweet potato casserole was to "die for". It was so covered with brown sugar and nuts that I could barely eat...More

Food is filling and the prices are a little high but overall worth it. The staff are great and have real nice hospitable personalities.

10 visits now. Simple, unpretentious diner in a beautiful place. Famous for their pies, but not all the pies are always available.

Drove through and had lunch--- grilled trout sandwich with onion rings and a grilled trout platter with mashed potatoes and slaw. The trout was fresh---- it is farmed and it tastes like farmed. Everything else was off the distributor's truck. The chocolate peanut butter pie...More

Description
New owners have spruced up the place and serve real food - and the best food in an otherwise dismal dining town. Many D.C. residents spend a weekend here and can't find info - won't know the place finally has edible food. Please check out their mountain trout - homemade desserts and breads, fresher food than this town has seen in years!
