This small restaurant was perfect for lunch in Gaia. Only a couple of minutes walk from the river but away from the tourist restaurants, it produced simple Portuguese fare that was delicious and reasonably priced. We loved the crispy meat balls, flaming chorizo and fried Green beans. The homemade lemonade was a treat too.

My wife and I had dinner here yesterday evening. It was wonderful. We had crispy green beans with a honey & mustard dipping sauce and chouriço which was charred at the table as starters. For main course my wife had slow cooked pork cheeks, I had bacalhau fritters with rice and beans. Both dishes were delicious. We had such a lovely experience that we went back for lunch today.
Lunch was shared plates of the beans (again), meatball fritters, a cheese board and bread. Lunch was washed down with a jug of refreshing white sangria.
I've got to take time to praise the attentiveness of the staff. They were wonderful.

And they put up with my terrible Portuguese.

This quaint restaurant located in Porto was amazing, so good my friend and I ate here twice. It was a small staff of just the chef and server, which created an engaging and fun environment. They even said it was the best place to make friends, and we sure did. Another customer ended up being there two nights in a row too, creating an ever lasting connection. Oh! and the Food? Also Amazing. Had the chorizo both and peppers both nights. First night we had pork cheeks, followed by the bachalau cakes. Truly Amazing and highly recommend!

Discrete place, discrete and nice staff, very tasty home made food. Only three main meals and you can be sure that they are full of taste and love for the final customers.

Really delicious with good service. Nice simple menu with few individual dishes. We chose codfish and layer-time pigs, with beans and chain balls for pre-feeding. In addition we got a great chocolate cake.

You just need to move a few tens of meters away from the riverside and the flashy and slightly tacky clubs to come across a small pearl like this. Not particularly comfortable and rather small, but the quality of the (few) dishes on the menu is excellent, the feeling is that of being guests in their home, including having some courses removed from the order if deemed excessive. The friendliness and genuineness complete the pleasantness of the hospitality

Small typical restaurant (16 seats maximum), run by 2 adorable women, where all the local dishes are home-cooked. It's a delight. The chorizo, grilled in front of you, is killer.
Just thinking about homemade pâté, chorizo balls with white meat or cod fritters makes my mouth water. This wonderful restaurant, with quality products and low prices, is intended for those who want to escape all the tourist restaurants on the pier.
Go there with your eyes closed but on the other hand, open your taste buds wide.

In one of the side streets off the main tourist area of Gaia is this little restaurant is run by what I think is mother and daughter. Only a few tables, less than 10, so I recommend you get there for when they open at 7pm. Menu is very short, not much choice, but everything we had was lovely and tasty. A really enjoyable dining experience!

Fantastic, family style Portuguese cuisine. We loved both the food, ambience and overall experience. The pigs’ cheeks in a piquant sauce were great and wine excellent and very reasonably priced. Service both friendly and attentive. Would strongly recommend.

Wonderful food, wonderful people. We had the flaming chorizo and the pimento appetizer which were both outstanding. For dinner the pork cheeks were tender and flavorful (best dish of our vacation) and the codfish cakes were very nice. The wine was excellent as was the service. Very genuine people. Wish they were open on mondays as we are leaving and will not be able to stop in again. Best of all, we wanted a piece of chocolate cake to bring home, but we’re told they could not do take away. But to our surprise, we’re we’re brought a piece on one of the restaurants brick pottery dishes to take with us! It will be a cherished dish in our home back in the states and will always remind us of the friendly people of Villa Nova de Gaia. Thanks

Small local authentic restaurant. We appetized with a glass of red wine from Alentejano valley, house made pate of tuna, fried green beans and chorizo that is brought in a clay dish then lit on fire and you finish cooking it at your table. Finished with an espresso and the chocolate tart. All absolutely delicious and the service perfect. All for a great price! Highly recommend

Had lunch in this wee place. Service was very good and the food was excellent. The starters we had were all very good especially the battered beans with dip. The star of the show was the pigs cheek, perfectly cooked melt in the mouth meaty goodness. We also had the sangria whuch was deliciuos and very potent! Would highly recommend for authentic Portuguese food.

Waited outside the brown doors with several others as cannot book. Opened at 7pm and full by 710. Very small and manned by waht seems to be mother and daughter team. However food was amazing and authentic. Several starters - we had Deep fried green beans- and then just 3 main courses to choose from. We had pork cheeks and cod cakes. Great portions and served very hot. Too full for puddings. White wine crisp and well priced.
Would definitely recommend. Visit and do not miss out!!

Had a lovely meal at this small restaurant just near Sandeman in Porto. Highly recommend the cabbage soup. The Pork cheeks with red wine sauce and home French fries with salad, was so delicious. This place I would give a 10 out 10 rating. Would definitely visit again and try another dish. Great value as well.

Nice spot in Porto!
We want for a dinner a Saturday night
People nice and friendly and the food was delicious!
We shared some appetizers, pork and fish and everything was really good!
