Georgie's Restaurant is attached to the Anchor Inn and offers a good dining experience in a town that doesn't have much other options. I had a nicely prepared piece of cod followed by a cheese and meat platter - both prepared well. A small downside might be the ambience - it's a large very ordinary looking room though the picture windows overlook the bay.

Located inside the Anchor Inn. The Captain's Pub is downstairs. Georgie's upstairs has a more upscale menu. Service was friendly and knowledgeable about local questions. Food was served promptly and piping hot. We shared a salad and followed up with fish and chips and the Cod tacos. There is a wine list with moderate selections. We ordered a bottle of wine, which we were allowed to carry downstairs to the Pub to listen to the local musician (also very good). When reserving, we were offered a window seat, which was a great suggestion as we enjoyed the view over the harbour.

We ate here as they offer gluten free options. The service was great. Staff were all very friendly. The short ribs were good, the scallop appetizers were good but very pricey for the small portion that you got, the salmon tasted fishy so it was not great. The sticky fig pudding was very good

Dined at 10 restaurants in NL and this was our only disappointment. The quality does not match the photos so lower your expectations. Arrived for a 6:30 pm dinner reservation and the lobster special was sold out! All the large groups were placed in tables by the window and all tables for 2 were placed at the back of the restaurant, so book for 4 if you want to a table with a view

One of the Worst dining experiences we have ever had! Paula, waitress, was surly, unhelpful and completely ignored us for almost an hour, even though we tried to get her attention. Other diners who came in after us got their meals before us and were finished before Paula finally thought to tell the chef to prepare our meal. When we got it, it was disgusting! Greasy, overcooked, deep fried and even burned! couldn't have been worse. Disgusting and Disgusted!

My husband and I ate at Georgie’s our first night in Twillinggate. They were accommodating as we didn’t have a reservation and also omitted the turnip from my husband’s feta stuffed chicken meal, lol!! I had the beer battered fish and chips. Both meals were very good. The fish was very fresh. I would recommend this restaurant

Georgie's is one of my favourite spots to eat in Twillingate. They offer exceptional seafood alongside a diverse menu that caters to non-seafood lovers as well. Those in search of a meal with an ocean view should consider stopping by on a visit to Twillingate, Newfoundland.

A very friendly, lovely restaurant. Dress is casual. Although we did not have a reservation and there was a bus group there, we were greeted cheerfully by Brandon and assured they’d be able to accommodate us in a few minutes — which they did. And we had a lovely window table! A large bottle of water was immediately brought to our table. Once our order was taken complimentary bread and balsamic dip was brought. Bread was warm and tasted great. I ordered the Screech salmon and even though I frequently eat salmon, I can honestly say this was the best salmon I have EVER had. Cooked to perfection with a light, crispy glaze that was delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes were good (needed a bit of salt and unfortunately there was none on the table), and perfectly cooked root vegetables. My father had the fish and chips and said they were among the best he has had. We will return for an encore! And the staff were like everyone we’ve met, warm and friendly. Only downside was a limited wine list - wish they were a few more options, especially by the glass.

This restaurant has been rated ahead of Anniess Harbour Restakurant, down the street. Georgie's is part of the Anchor Inn. There is NO way this is the case. This is the first time we have ever walked out of a restaurant mid meal. I will be brief. We were lied too about a table that we were told was unavailable. It was and I witnessed this first hand. We waited one and one half hours between sitting down and NOT receiving our entree. So I cannot comment on the food. We left, having each had an appetizer for which we were charged full price. Perhaps our wait person is just in the wrong line of work. But it is very early in the season so it can't be that she is fed up with tourists yet. To top it off we were staying at the hoteol.

It is regrettable that this was your dinner experience on an evening when the restaurant was full with happy guests visiting Twillingate to see icebergs and enjoy our hiking trails. We understand that many of our guests are on a well-earned vacation and dining out is something that is looked forward to - we work hard to fulfill our role in it. Meals are cooked to order and with care and we proudly serve each guest with complementary freshly baked focaccia bread with molasses vinaigrette while waiting. Your server, who is one of our most experienced team members, informed you that your meals were ready to come off the line and we understand that you chose not to stay. You're correct in saying that you were charged only for appetizers you enjoyed, and not the entrees you ordered. The oceanfront table you requested upon your arrival, was reserved by guests who subsequently cancelled, so you were given the correct information. While this was understandably not the experience you had hoped for, we trust that you enjoyed your overall experience in Twillingate and left with some good memories.

Over the past several years, this restaurant has been consistently our favorite in Twillingate and we have dined at them all. The Fish Cakes, the Salmon, and the Seafood Pasta are all fantastic. The desserts are all made in house and we recommend you try them all! The service is excellent and the views are amazing. On a warm summer evening, this restaurant has a comfortable air conditioned environment. Highly recommended!

We were able to get our meals brought to the room from Georgie's which we loved (due to being ridiculously tired!), and it was great. The combo board has a great selection of cheese, meats, nuts, jams, etc. The calamari is really good - no rubber bands to be had!

Again thoroughly enjoyed our meals, this time scallops and cod choices - with tasty salads and a perfect view. Struggling like most independent eateries/businesses to train and recruit staff for our brief summer season so expect a relaxing, leisurely meal that is not ordered, deep fried and served in half an hour . Have learned to be very patient and understanding of the realities of our independent eateries in rural NL. Servers were friendly and service was good. Really one of the best eateries if you want fresh, tasty and unprocessed food.

Great to hear that you enjoyed your scallop and cod meal choices at Georgie's! And wise advice about savouring the dining experience rather than rush it - our team works hard to maintain just-in-time-service, which can get tricky when a restaurant gets busy. Rest assured, each meal is prepared from scratch!

I ate here on a Thu. evening in early May 2022 and it was very quiet. I had the amazing seafood chowder and you could taste the freshness of the seafood - very noticeable - and the broth/roue? was so, so very creamy and flavourful. Honestly, the best chowder that I've ever had. Also enjoyed a half anchor salad and wonderful, attentive service. No draft beer at this time of year but that's to be expected this early in the season.

It is great to hear that you enjoyed your meal, and thank you for sharing your review. You were just a slight bit early for draught beer, but we now have a choice of 8 Newfoundland craft beers on tap.

Enjoyed immensely the pan fried cod with scrunchions & the root vegetables. Instead of the rice, I ordered the baby red potatoes - yum! Our server was very pleasant and attentive. One friend had the ginger apple soup which she said was delicious. Pricier than other restaurants in town but worth it. Would definitely go again.

I went for lunch and was delighted with a five-star event. Bread fresh from the oven, delicate cod and fresh local vegetables for the main, and provincial flavours throughout. Yum! and the service was with a happy smile. So good, I wanted to go back for dinner. But, no surprise, it was full to the max. Book early!
