Great view of the ocean and Bell Island. Service was as always, excellent. Fried cod fish was great as usual. Unfortunately, the fried chicken wings were not. They tasted like they were re-friend from the day before. I can still feel the itchiness in my...tongue when you eat a dish that is not fresh.More

Great service. Had the fish and chips with dressing and gravy. Side order of onion rings. Belgian Ale on tap. Food was very good.👍🍻

The fish and chips with dressing and gravy was delicious. I got a small order (one piece of fresh, battered cod), and I couldn’t eat it all, though I wanted to!! Generous portions, and the batter was so crisp and flaky. Epic comfort food. PS-While...there I met a man named Terry, who wrote a song for the restaurant years ago that’s framed on the wall. (I’ve always believed that if locals enjoy a place, it’s worth eating at, and it’s certainly true here) Cute little place, right by the beach. :)More

Each time we go to St John’s we drive to On the Beach, in St Phillips. Amazing fish and chips in a restaurant with a fantastic view. One of the best fish and chips places in Newfoundland.

One of the best fish and chips spots on the island. Fish was fresh, tender and flaky. The location on the beach is fantastic and watching the ferry go back and forth is a bonus. Unfortunately it is not licensed nor is there table service,...but you will forget that, once you taste the foodMore

Great service and food. Great ramp but then would be difficult to get around the tables on the deck with a walker or wheelchair. Most people would likely be helpful because this is Nfld. Cash only but there is an ATM machine. Remember that fish...means cod in Nfld. It means haddock in the Maritimes. Very tasty. Great views of the harbour.More

Enjoyed our lunch immensely! Great view, too. Place was clean (not 'sticky' like some places...know what I mean?) Bring cash, though. No plastic accepted.

I’ve eaten at just about every fish & chip place along the Avalon side of Newfoundland & this place has the lightest, freshest & flakiest fish I’ve ever eaten to date. Add the chips, dressing & gravy for a classical Newfoundland style fish & chips....The view of the bay is gorgeous so sit outside if you can. Be aware that they only take cash & it is a bit pricey so don’t be caught shortMore

I have had Fish and Chips here several years ago and it was very good however not was under different management. What I had there recently was poorly prepared and presented. The chips looked and tasted like they had been cooked several times; the fish...was thin pieces oily batter and tasteless. This place is also not very clean and is definitely overrated.More

Always a good feed! Friendly staff: a father&son & the crew are outstanding in serving up delicious fish and the service is authentic and friendly!! They always consistently serve up mouth watering freshness all cuddled in a light batter. Fries with gravy and dressing has...to show up on your supper plate too!More

My family and I visited here for lunch one day. They were busy, and rightfully so. The food was hot and delicious and the portions were big! The batter on the fish was light and crispy, the fish was cooked perfectly and flakey, and the...fries were great! The kids cod bites were the perfect size for my preschooler, who ate every bite!More

Come prepared with cash (restaurant doesn't accept credit card). I highly recommend this place. Fair quantity and fresh fish, not too greasy. All tables have the view on the ocean. 20 min away from St John's, it's worth it!

A family of five came on a beautiful sunny day. The place was quite busy for lunch. The restaurant was clean. The server was constantly cleaning the tables and taking away dirty dishes from guests. The food was large portions. The fish and chips was...great. A nice light batter and lots of French fries. They only take cash however there is an ATM there if you need money. Great view of the ocean.More

During COVID this restaurant's take out does not disappoint (I think at this time they are only doing take-out) but I'm not absolutely sure on that ! Yes they only take cash...but I think this is to keep costs lower ..and it is at most...a very minor inconvenience for the otherwise fantastic service and food. Today I had the glorious treat of Fin and Feathers with Fries and Gravy. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection...and I am fussy.....especially since I only allow myself this kind of treat very very sporadically.!!! Its really hard to get that chicken and fish combo just right (Bay girl here and I know my chicken and fish lol) but this restaurant has it all figured out!!. We ate in our truck overlooking Bell Island... what more could anyone possibly need lol!!More
