We were looking forward to our dinner at the bistro but were disappointed by the food - which does match what's offered on the menu or the decor. Our mains - the pork and lamb overcooked and dry, the jus overreduced, vegetables overcooked. The Te Kairanga wine choice was good.

The restuarant looked inviting so popped into reserve a table for later that evening. My partner and I both had the duck pate - simply devine and served with pickled carrots and white radish and fresh orange segments. Stunning. My main was the fish of the day - served with fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. My partner a pork dish,... More

A thoughtful young chef presented interesting and well cooked meals for us, two nights in a row. Service very good also.

It's a Monday night and there are many local restaurants closed. But that can't explain over an hour wait on our main courses. I could sense the hectic state in the kitchen and there were some perfunctory apologies but we had a child with us and it was close to 9pm when the mains finally arrived. It might have been... More

Nice menu, and the food was good. We both especially liked the crayfish bisque. The service was disappointing - on a Saturday night, you'd expect their "A" team, but it felt like poorly supervised newbies were at the helm. Some (but not all) dirty dishes from the starter were left on the table until the end of the meal. Similar... More

First time back here since the change of mgmt and staff. First thing we noticed was the friendly welcome and more inviting decor. Couple of craft beers on tap and pretty good local wine list. Food was very nice too and prices very reasonable. Changes made definitely for the better. Well done

Ate here on our first night in Martinborough and definitely wasn't disappointed. Took a little while to order (was a bit busy), but once we did food came quickly and was absolutely incredible.

this was my second time dining at the restaurant and i was once again very happy with the experience. Twenty locals dined in a beautiful private dining room on a Saturday evening - serving such a large group can be challenging - my food was excellent and i only heard good feedback from fellow diners. Service was friendly and efficient... More

We visited the restaurant as a group. The service was ok, everyone tried hard and meant well, but it lacked the fineness that you would have expected. The portion size of all the meals (entree and main) were more than generous but the general feeling among the group was that none really hit the mark in terms of quality. The... More

Thought we would try this new restaurant with the new owners and new chefs, staff were friendly and polite and Nicky went the extra mile, we didn't have to wait long for our entrées or mains to come out, and we certainly wasn't rushed, we were there for the evening, Wills the head chef came out and spoke to the...
