This was one of the very few restaurants open most of the time in the Kerkeri region. It had been recommended by our holiday home hosts. It was a little out of the way but very well worth the drive; the food was wonderfully done, the wines were gorgeous and the restaurant itself had cosy and pleasant decor. We went... More

We called into Ake Ake vineyard to do a bit of wine tasting whilst on our honeymoon and decided to stay for lunch. I'm so glad we did, the food was amazing! The dishes were very generous portions, I had pork belly and my husband had the lamb. Very tasty and well presented. My husband is a chef and he... More

We recently held our wedding here. Judy great in assisting to plan the event and offered alternative suggestions for wet weather. It was a great day and we took advantage of knowing that although it rained we were well looked after.

We were a party of 6 and had prebooked and lucky we did as the restaurant was full. We were lucky to get a table hidden away in a corner surrounded by wine bottle up to the ceiling! This provided a wonderful atmosphere and also was very quiet. The waiter was great. Very knowledgeable on both food and wine. We... More

Lunch last weekend- in addition to the lunch menu there are roasts. Top marks all round. I chose the Duo of Hawke's Bay Lamb- lamb and smoked sirloin, tender and juicy, the sirloin was akin to pulled pork in texture. All meals were excellent, super staff and best of all, such quality comes at a very reasonable price. 4 mains,... More

A lovely evening last night at the restaurant. The setting is very peaceful and relaxing. The service was brilliant. The Seafood Chowder was the best I have ever tasted, and as this meal was a belated 60th birthday dinner I have had tried quite a few. The little touch of coriander brought out such a lovely flavour. Thanks for a... More
