My wife and I arrived a little early to an event in Dillwyn, and discover that Scottsville was only a 25 minute drive away. We were given a tip in a previous restaurant in MD, and checked out the restaurant. They serve breakfast, so we arrived at lunch time (11:00) Amanda behind the bar welcomed us, and was our server.... This was our first visit. We called ahead to reserve a table upstairs where the table and bar traffic was not so busy. Our table was ready when we arrived. We had an awesome server who was busy but worked her butt off. All four of us had the 9 oz ribeye. It was good but did not have much... More

This was our first time here and loved it! The food was awesome and the music was jumping!! It was blues night and it was so much fun! A bit of a drive to find it but worth the trip! This place is very family friendly! I recommend the Angus Sirlon I wish I took a picture. A real must... More

We were driving through the town and found the tavern. We ordered two of the Sunday church specials and had enough food for 4. The food was good and service ok.

The river is beyond the parking lot. But that's okay. The food was fine! I totally enjoyed the Reuben sandwich I had for lunch. Very nice and just the right amount of Swiss cheese and sauerkraut so as not to overtake the generous portion if meat. Great selection of sandwiches and lots of lunch specials very reasonably priced. i visited this place a few times and was always pleasantly surprised with how good the food and service were. i also liked the fact that i was able to enjoy sports on tv while eating dinner. it seems this place is very popular with local folks, so i think that is also a statement that the food is good... We really enjoyed this place - great pub fare and a nice urbanesque atmosphere. We didn't have any beer, but overall, we had a wonderful experience.

Found this gem by accident. Taking the back roads to Virginia beach. Stopped for lunch. The food was fabulous. The bartender was great. I ordered prime rib The chef/owner came to and said how big would you like it. Made to order how awesome is that and it is also locally sourced.

Thank Lawrence C
