In dire need of dessert (not!), we popped into the Split Banana and indulged our sweet tooth. The black raspberry and ancho chile chocolate were excellent.

We popped in for a gelato and found the atmosphere super cute. Prices were very fair for what we got and the tables were clean. Worth stopping in for a treat!

The staff were friendly, the place is popular, and the flavors are abundant. We ordered 5 shakes and two cones of ice cream and found the food to be tasty, vibrant, and memorable. Quaint home town style of ice cream shop with a healthy blend of old school and modern.

We were brought here by locals and loves the great flavors such as chocolate chili and eggnog. It was freezing outside and that did not matter because the gelato was so delicious. Whole unpasteurized milk, natural organic ingredients, original flavors and it was busy on a chilly night. I would definitely recommend this!!

A special experience for anyone young at heart! Flavors change regularly. All are homemade. My favorite is the vanilla but all are delicious!

We try gelato wherever we go and the Split Banana's is the best. Period. It's always fresh and they change their flavors every month to keep us coming back to see what's new. And their hot chocolate is worth a trip all by itself.

The Split Banana has been a mainstay in Staunton as long as we remember. This is strictly a dessert place, with lots of wonderful gelato. The flavors change all the time, but they tend to be very good and we're always happy to try something new. The setting itself is kind of traditional with a twist. We like coming here... More

The gelato and sorbet are amazing! All of the flavors are made fresh and with local ingredients. They have a board on the wall that shows where all of the ingredients came from.

I had the pistachio gelato. There were so many pistachio nuts in it that it almost felt like I was eating pistachios with gelato. Needless to say, the pistachio flavor was fantastc. I've also had the blackberry and raspberry sorbet which I think was bursting with flavor. But if tiny raspberry seeds bother you, then I'd skip it..
