Stopped for lunch at Mrs. Rowe's. Always a good meal. I usually do not eat a large lunch. However, the fried chicken lunch special was too much for me to turn down. Very good and not greasy. Potato salad pinto beans, corn bread and sweet tea. My doctor would not approve but it was sure good.

My family and I stopped at Mrs. Rowe's while traveling. The restaurant looked very local and wanted to give it a try. I ordered the country fried steak with a side of vegetables and while the vegetables were very good the country fried steak was really bad, bordering on tasting old and the gravy was just gross. My wife had... More

This was my second visit to Mrs. Rowes based upon rave reviews of older generation friends. The food is really pretty average, but the overall experience was a good one because it's a step back in time. It's also fun to get a chance to dine with some locals and regulars. I had a bacon cheesburger for lunch and a... More

We had a delicious meal, but the poor waitress was a little stressed. The waitress seemed to be serving tables all over the restaurant, and just seemed overwhelmed! She was very polite and apologetic, but I felt sorry for her. The baked pork tenderloin was melt in your mouth tender. My husband had the fried chicken which he enjoyed. The... More

Mrs. Rowe's is not a fancy place, but it serves traditional home cooking. The Meat Loaf is a huge meal, inexpensive and tasty. Desserts are obscene, but compelling. This is a fine place for dishes you remember.

Good food at very reasonable prices. Locally popular, been around for quite awhile, got a positive review from the Sterns.

I started going to Mrs. Rowe's in the 70's as all Virginia state employees seemed to know the restaurant. Staunton is at the crossroads, I-81 and I-64, many meetings and training happened in the vicinity (Fishersville) and it was THE place to go for lunch or dinner. I would periodically go during the 80's, the 90's and into the present.... More

We arrived at 5:15pm and had to wait 15 minutes for a table for two. We both had the 12 oz steak special which came with two sides. All the food served in this restaurant is home style cooked and is very good. No instant potatoes here. The steak though of a nice size was of a lower quality. Nothing... More

One of our favorite restaurants ANYWHERE for many years, be it Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Breakfast is our favorite. My husband gets the traditional bacon, eggs, home fries & toast, while my favorite is Pon Haus (more commonly known as Scrapple). Pon Haus is more delicate than Scrapple, an acquired taste, but I love it. While eating breakfast, you can... More

I ordered the roasted turkey dinner. It came with dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. I was going to order dessert but I was too full. If you come away from this restaurant hungry then you were not hungry in the first place. Just excellent food as well as friendly service. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone....
