We had a delicious dinner and sat outside under the tent. It was comfortable and the service was quick. Food is ordered inside at a window and then brought to your table. I would return if in the area.

We love the Hunter's Head Tavern. I used to work in the U.K. so it takes me right back to my days in England. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. The only drawbacks for us is that it is a limited menu (very English), and the prices are somewhat high. But sitting on the lovely patio in... More

Unfortunately we didn't make reservations but were seated upstairs. The surroundings and furniture reflected the age of the building and it was evident a lot had gone into to make it as comfortable as possible. Considering we were upstairs the staff was very attentive. The bangers and mash was very authentic but the veil was a little on the tough... More

Small town about 15 miles outside of the more prominent Middleburg destination. The place has a small, quite well stocked, bar and in addition to the inside tavern seating there is a large outdoor tented area reminiscent of a biergarten. We made reservations through Open Table but only had 5:30 or 8:00 available. When we called, they said they had... More

We lived in Great Britain for a number of years. The Hunter's Head Tavern reminded us of our forays into the English countryside. What fun! The setting was perfect for us. But you don't get an excellent rating on a building. Let's face it, you do go for the food. We had the Shepherds Pie and the Chicken Pot Pie.... More

On a trip to the area to visit family, we stopped at the Hunter's Head for drinks and had a nice experience sitting at the bar for a quick drink. On our way out, we saw a sign advertising that they do afternoon tea. We aren't local, so we decided the next time in the area we would come to... More

My wife and I discovered The Hunters Head Tavern as we headed west after a weeks worth of meetings in Washington DC. We visit DC occasionally, and every time we leave the city, we stop at the Hunters Head. The contrast from the fervor of the city to the quiet county Inn was most welcome. Come and enjoy the old... A great place to enjoy traditional English pub fare made from locally sourced ingredients. We epecially liked the Bubble & Squeak and the burgers. The setting is striking, with a beautiful outdoor area and rustic interiors in an original 17th century home. It's the perfect place for lunch or dinner you're visiting Middleburg, Upperville, and other historic towns in the... More

It was the perfect ending to a nice long hike. Beer was good. The fish n chips were excellent and the complimentary bread was hit the spot. Sat outdoors on a beautiful spring afternoon. Loved the spacious garden chairs at our tables. I'll come back if I'm ever thru this way again.
