They brag about their crab cakes, but ours were a little overwhelmed by salty Old Bay seasoning. The fried calamari was excellent-- perfectly cooked and tender, with a light breading that didn't overwhelm, and tangy marinara for dipping. We went for a late lunch on a beautiful 77 degree December Sunday when the sun was shining. We had to wait... More

We chose this place because I wanted seafood and my husband wanted wings. I didn't care for the seafood, but he LOVED the wings. He even ordered seconds! We went on a Saturday around 3, but it was already extremely packed out. We had a 30 minute wait to be seated, and then once we sat down service was slow... More

It might have been a bad night. We had two dinners of shrimp and fried clams. Both were mostly bread and was not fresh. Very poor for the hype the restaurant gets. Too noisy, too crowded and too much frozen food.

Went for lunch. I had the shrimp basket and my wife had the blackened fish tacos. The shrimp were large and very flavorful. The tacos were good as well. Servers were friendly and the price was pretty cheap.

My son has been a Big SAMs regular for 20 years. I live out of state, but I never miss having a meal at Big SAMs when I'm in town. Actually, I ate here three days in a row on this trip. I love the She Crab Soup and the Steamed Shrimp. The fried tomatoes are really good too. Everything... More

Directed to this restaurant by the Rudee Inlet tours. We were waiting for a whale watching trip (Now that was totally worth it!). Unfortunately our grilled cheese and soup was -meh- There have got to be better options close by. Two stars for the view of the marina

jwfornow, What is meh? Was it the grilled cheese? Was it the soup? Was the the soup she crab or clam chowder? Is our view a 5 star view, but we only got two stars because you didn't like the soup or the chowder. Reviews like this don't help us at Big Sam's fix anything if there is actually something... Love their breakfast/brunch! Hands down the best combos, drinks, and price for what you get. My boyfriend and I often share a meal and have plenty to spare. Biscuits and a 1/2 pound of friend potatoes are always good, can't go wrong with pancakes and bacon!

After many years of disappointing food outside of Tatougs we ventured down to the Lake Rudee area and the couple bars we had seen on the map. Our group of 6 found a table after only a 30 minute wait (which is amazing that time of year and time of day) and absolutely filled up with great seafood for a... More

Local favorite that is great for visitors as well. Great breakfast right on the water at the Rudee Inlet. Was recommended to us by some locals and overheard at least 2 other people telling other visitors to go there during our 5 day stay. Great lunch and dinners also that feature daily blackboard specials. All desserts are homemade. Seafood, fresh meats, produce and dairy are delivered fresh everyday.
