visited with my husband. We wereassailed by the smell of incense burning as we entered- should have taken the warning right then. Greeted promtply by a beautiful young lady who took our drink order and quickly served our Miso soup , plum wine, and a coke. The owner of the establishment constantly scolded her in front of us - nagging... More

Was visiting the area and this place was close by with good reviews. Got worried because one of the reviews stated that the food was too greasy and I'm not a fan of overly greasy food, but this place was excellent. The sushi tasted extremely fresh, none of the spicy dishes were overly spicy (but you could get spicier if... More

Very flavorful. We lived every bite. Two people shared 3 rolls and were stuffed. Unique and delicious.

I had great expectations for this visit after hearing a few good recommendations. I was utterly disappointed. Some of the maki rolls were good tasting, I will give them that, but besides that it was not a good visit. The pieces are huge. You have to part them in two, otherwise you will have to chew with your mouth open.... More

I've tried quite a bit of sushi from both the East Coast as well as the California West Coast and This Old House sits at the top. Mr. Lee creates sushi masterpieces that are so tasty and delicious it puts regular sushi to shame. His Good to Go rolls are the best. The jalapeno popper G2G roll is delicious as... More

I've been to quite a few sushi bars and This Old House is the best by far. Mr. Lee (owner & chef) is very friendly, outgoing, and customer oriented, and considering the restaurant has been in business 17 years I'd say they're doing things right. The Good to Go rolls are phenomenal, and all his sushi is fresh and tasty.... More

Mr. Lee is a master of flavor and texture. Creative delicacies such as Bonsai Burrito (spicy tuna, cream cheese and avocado,) Mama Tortilla (salmon skin, eel, cream cheese, avocado and scallions) are not to be missed. Especially amazing are the white tuna good to go and salmon good to go.

I couldn't believe what a horrible dinner we had here after all the wonderful reviews. We just moved from key west, florida and we've been looking at different sushi places around the area and found this one on trip advisor, saw the wonderful reviews it had so we had to try it out. As we went it in there was... More

"This old house" easily has the best sushi I have ever tasted, and I've tried sushi all over the country. Mr. Lee, the chef/owner is extremely welcoming and is never stingy with his sushi masterpieces. His portions are VERY generous and his creations are AMAZING!! If you're in Virginia beach and you're craving some fantastic sushi Mr. Lee and "this... More
