We were welcomed at the door with personalized menus and complimentary mocktail and zinfandel. Our waiter Robert handled everything with aplomb and an infectious smile. We shared a delicious vegan "Caesar" salad, filet mignon accompanied with triangular potato cake, sauteed spinach and a perfect Bearnaise...More

This is a great restaurant. The food was excellent (my wife decided that it wasn’t that she didn’t risottos but that no one had ever prepared one that she liked until here - in this case loved) - we shared two starters and a main...More

This restaurant is rated one of the best in the City and deservingly so. Food is so creatively plated and the taste and textures are we presented. The bouillaise was the best I have ever tasted. The wait staff is quick and quiet. The outdoor...More

We walked here from our hotel for dinner. It's a nice place, but the food is not transcendent for the relatively high price. In future trips to Virginia Beach, I will give it a pass.

We came here on a Monday night in August and walking in the door the temperature was about 75 degrees. It took 30 minutes to get out the appetizer and then another hour for the salad. The food was okay, not great. I would not...More

The reviews I read on Terrapin promised excellent food in Virginia Beach, and they were correct. The space is very nice, and not pretentious at all. We dressed "casual dressy" and fit right in. The service was good, but a bit disorganized at the beginning....More

Terrapin has definitely earned every one of its 4 Diamonds from AAA. The menu is farm and sea to table. The staff is impeccable and the food is the best I've ever had in Virginia Beach. Chef Rodney us a modest man, but his food...More

Quite the swanky joint! Hard to find so use GPS. The best calamari I have EVER eaten and I’ve been around 70 years. Rest of the food we enjoyed was equally as delightful. A bit pricey for VA Beach but don’t let that stop you...More

Yeah; I'd stick with that and nice shoes. You won't need a jacket-but, if you did have one you wouldn't feel overdressed if you decided to wear it. It's a first class place and yet not pretentious at all.
