One word describes the Sandpiper it’s never open and has been inconsistent at best. We’ve been loyal customers for 20 years, but the last three times the restaurant has been dark. Hate to see a local institution go down!

We ate recently in the Sandpiper Restaurant. It was a delightful, friendly place. Our hosts, natives of the area, told us that would be a good place for crab cakes...were they ever right. The crab cakes were rich and flavorful with no need for fillers.

I don't recall a specific "gluten free" menu, but much of the food there is simply prepared, so I don't think having a gluten-free dinner there would too difficult. I would cal ahead to make sure though.
