Enjoyed a bowl of the vegetarian chili! Nice to find a reasonably priced meal and one that is meatless! Inside is not fancy but comfortable plus can eat outside!

Retro's is attempting to provide guests with a "throwback" experience of the good ole' days of burgers, fries, hot dogs and milk shakes in a diner atmosphere. For me, it fell short of the goal. The two dining areas were messy, with wobbly tables and uncomfortable chairs. And, there was no table service. We had to wait a long time... More

Each time we visit Williamsburg we try to include a visit to Retro's. They are excellent at the basics . . . hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries. They also serve a wide variety of shake flavors. Located between Colonial Williamsburg and the University of William and Mary, they are always busy, but move lots of people through in a short... More

As food is a bit expensive, this place has a little of everything and excellent prices. It's like walking into a 50s diner. It solved my hunger twice.

Retro's was recommended to us by a shopkeeper in Merchant's Square. We visited twice - once for the meatloaf special and again for burgers and salad. The salad was in a plastic clamshell but was fresh and crispy. The meatloaf was a generous sized serving and seasoned well. The prices are also retro - after spending much more at other... More

Perfect spot to take a break from Colonial Williamsburg! The food is awesome ( we had burgers and fries). My son loved the fresh squeezed lemonade. The atmosphere was great and the service was quick!

Trying to figure out where to get a quick bite to eat and then continue on the vacation can be time consuming. But not if you stop here and take the chance with a variety of foods to meet just about anybody's palate and budget. Really good!

Food plain and simple, but INEXPENSIVE, something that cannot be said of most other places to eat in the Historic District of Williamsburg. Nice craft beer.

I really wanted to like this place but there was so much to not like about our experience. The food ingredients are pretty poor quality and just not prepared well. Our 4 year old ordered green beans and a baked potato. I should have sent the potato back but she was so disappointed with what she received, I knew she... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at Retro’s. We are glad you liked the custard. You seemed to have a number of issues with the food. Perhaps you were looking for something other than Southern Diner Food. As this is one of our busiest weeks of the year, food does not sit around getting cold. Fries... More

Stopped in and simply had some french fries. They were fresh made and very good. Would have loved to try a hamburger, but had already eaten dinner.

Description
Fast – Delicious – Affordable. Signature items include french fries cut fresh daily, and real dairy custard, frozen on site daily. Said to have the best hot dogs in town, one can load up with a choice of fourteen toppings which, in addition to the old standards, include blue cheese cole slaw and sweet potato mustard! With cheeseburgers, BBQ, our grilled chicken sandwich (think State Fair) and fresh salads, there is something here to please everyone in your group!
