Visiting Williamsburg with friends, we started with dinner here. We were seated on the back porch in a cozy corner. Although this allowed for conversation, the fiddle player never ventured out to the porch which was disappointing. The food, highly priced, was generally good. The...More

Had a reservation for when the restaurant opened at 5 PM. Unlike the other Williamsburg Taverns it is not open for lunch. You must have a reservation; they do not take walk-ins. We were seated on the second floor although no other customers were already...More

Party of 6 and we were again seated on the back porch. This seating location is dark and gloomy with a high noise level. This in comparison with the main dining rooms that are festive and warm. The fiddle player stayed in the main area...More

Premium eatery in Colonial Williamsburg! The food was excellent, service wonderful, and ambiance perfect. Our grands thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will never forget what it means to “tie one on.” The muffins, rolls, and spoon bread are yummy. We also liked the mulled cider!...More

We booked the reservation several weeks in advance, settling for a weekday since the Thanksgiving weekend was booked. We were greeted and promptly seated. Our server greeted us, brought us delicious breads, but we had to wait a while for a return visit with our...More

I can't say enough good things about our Thanksgiving Day feast at Christiana Campbell's Tavern. We had reservations for 5:30 and was seated fairly promptly around 5:40pm...it was very busy. The hostesses were very polite and easily approachable. Once seated we were greeted quickly by...More

True to Colonial Williamsburg, Mrs. Campbell's Tavern is a part of history as the house is restored and the staff is dressed in period clothing. Our wait on the cold porch was about 15 minutes delay from our scheduled reservations, but were seated in the...More

We loved our meal at Christiana Campbell’s Tavern. The seafood fricassee was outstanding as was the fried chicken. The spoon bread (like a soufflé) was a wonderful surprise. Dining by candlelight and enjoying such terrific food was memorable. Highly recommend!

We were greeted by women in Colonial dress and got right in at our reserved time, which was very good because we had to wait outside in the cold. They had a strolling minstrel which was quite pleasant. Our waiter was dressed in Colonial attire...More

Portion meal sizes are smaller , and especially mixed drinks like the Rummer, and prices are up. Readily acknowledged by my server. I've been coming here for 20 years and the difference is notable. Not up to Williamsburg standards.

I would figure on at least an hour. There are always multiple courses. Even if the courses seem to come too quickly to savor or for your party to socialize, the service takes a while. give yourself an hour and a half of... More

The previous reply was accurate. You make reservations through Open Table, unless the party is larger than eight. Then you have to go through Group Sales Office. And absolutely the wait staff and entertainers dress in 18th... More

Not much has changed since George Washington frequented Christiana Campbell’s Tavern for its delicious seafood in the 18th century. Lively conversation and learned discussion still abound, and today’s menu items could easily have been ordered by our founding fathers. Dig in to locally sourced shrimp, scallops, and fish, and be sure to try Christiana’s famous crab cakes, and a group of balladeers will help you channel your inner seafarer with toe-tapping shanties.
