What a great visit we had to this tavern! The waitstaff was exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and professional. Music was great, and the dining options were good for everyone in our party--the children as well as the four adults--carnivores as well as vegetarians. Beer selections were plentiful,...More

The place was surprisingly kid-friendly. I would recommend it to families. The beer was cold and the service was good.

The garden area behind the main tavern has been recently reconfigured to highlight local craft beers based on Colonial recipes, and cocktails based on historic tavern offerings. The food menu ranges from pasties to salads, to platters of seafood or charcuterie. The staff maintains a...More

Had an appetizer to share and a beer flight sampler. One of the CW characters interacted with me during the lunch so that was fun. We also agreed to share a table and met and chatted with a nice couple visiting from Florida. Overall a...More

Chowning's Tavern was very good. We were part of a party of 8. I heard no one complain about the food, and mine was quite good--beef brisket. Had eaten at the King's Arms Tavern on a previous trip. I think Chowing's was as good--maybe even...More

Brighter and a new fun menu still with history, fun, and music. Late night draft and good coffee and snacks including free peanuts.

My husband and I visited this week. We ordered the pork BBQ sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich. They were both tasty. The fries were great. The iced tea was good. Everything else was so high priced we didn't consider it. I'm just not into...More

Pros: delicious food, unique beer selection, great ambiance, authentic furniture, candle light dinner, live music, original colonial home, and costumes. Cons: between two and three dollar signs, a little too quiet for toddlers/infants, close seating/tables, limited condiments. Overall, the food and experience is worth the...More

I suggest you direct your question to the venue where you purchased your special event ticket. I only dine at Chownings at regular dining, not special events. No idea what the menu will be.
