The Fat Canary is our favorite place for special occasions in Williamsburg. The food is delicious and the wait staff are attentive and knowledgeable. We always have our anniversary dinners there. The soups and desserts are not to be missed.

Once a year visit and this restaurant never disappoints. A diverse menu with excellent choices, well prepared food, good service, and reasonably priced. I only wish it was closer to NYC where I'm from.

The ribs appetizer and the short rib entree were spectacular. They were so tender and the fat was rendered perfectly. Having said this, don't get the ribs appetizer with a heavy entree because the portion for the appetizer was huge! The fois gras appetizer was...More

I had the duck entree with a glass of wine. Waiters were really nice. Food was served promptly. It was very good. Unfortunately a bit expensive. One entree and a glass of wine were around 50 USD, tips included.

Fat Canary is an exceptional restaurant - and will offer you a variety of options. Anything you select will meet the highest standards. It is not a steakhouse - I’m in Bangalore and jet lagged. My last response was confusing. More

Description
This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. The dining bar and seasonal outdoor patio seating are on a first come basis. Reservations for the dining room are recommended and may be made up to 2 months in advance. Open daily for dinner, a hostess is available during the day to take reservations.
