Always make it a point to hit The Fat Canary when I'm in town. Always spot on & consistent! The rib appetizer is a must! Small menu & top quality!

They take food & drink seriously here - excellent ingredients in slightly unusual combinations. The very friendly & knowledgable staff guide you through the choices here & it pays to be at least a little adventurous. Main courses great but BEST SALAD EVER

This restaurant is right on Duke of Gloucester Street. It is very small, casual and shares their space with the Cheese Shop. I got the pork chop entree. It looked more like a veal chop, was cooked to perfection and extremely flavorful. The accompanying goat...More

Fat Canary is an exceptional restaurant - and will offer you a variety of options. Anything you select will meet the highest standards. It is not a steakhouse - I’m in Bangalore and jet lagged. My last response was confusing. More

Description
This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. The dining bar and seasonal outdoor patio seating are on a first come basis. Reservations for the dining room are recommended and may be made up to 2 months in advance. Open daily for dinner, a hostess is available during the day to take reservations.
