I had a nice business meeting meal. Veal was good but not a knock out if the park as advertised. This is a good Italian standby choice if you are in the mood. Wine choices not too wide.

Last Friday we ate at Violino's. It was highly recommended by the staff of the George Washington Hotel where we were staying. I read a couple negative reviews before we walked to the restaurant which is a couple of blocks from the hotel and very conveniently located in the pedestrian mall in Winchester. The negative reviews were totally wrong. The... More

We were lucky enough to happen upon this restaurant while strolling through old Winchester tonight. While browsing the menu posted outside we were given some great advice from a loyal patron. SO glad we listened as she explained that this was the best restaurant on the planet! This place is a gem. It shines in every category; great, sometimes adventurous... More

The food was delicious and the service top notch. It was a little more expensive than some surrounding establishments but the food was well worth it. We had a wonderful dining experience at Violino

My husband and I had dinner at Violino's last Saturday. We did not have a reservation, but they were able to seat us promptly. The food was excellent, the atmosphere friendly, and, yes, there was a violin player. The chef also came out and serenaded one of the tables.

Best Italian gourmet you will find anywhere in the area. Lovely service in a quaint setting. It's not cheap, but it shouldn't be and it is worth every penny.

Food was good. Service was very good. Full Bar service. The issue we had with this place was that during restaurant week, we BOTH had to order from the restaurant week menu or the regular menu. I did not want what was on the restaurant week menu, but my wife did. We were told we both had to order from... More

Thank you for your review. It is more beneficial for the overall dining experience for everyone at the table to be unanimous on the decision to either do the restaurant week menu or the regular dinner menu because if one person gets three courses and the other gets one, the guest receiving one entree would be sitting there with nothing... Violino's is very close to perfect. The menu is small and unique and everything I have tried here is wonderful. Service is very European and the atmosphere is perfect for a special occasion. The wine list is small but good. I've tried all of the appetizers, but my favorite is the "Capriccio Violino". My favorite main course is the braised... More

My husband and I went to Violino's looking for a good Italian dinner. To say I was impressed was an understatement. I did not realize they specialized in Northern Italian cooking, meaning there was no salad prior to the meal and no pasta served with the meal. I was disappointed to say the least. I ordered the only chicken dish... More

Dear pghgirl74, I'm sorry you were disappointed but I feel you have been misled by what I call "fake" Italian restaurants. Just because you go to an Italian restaurant doesn't mean that you are entitled to a free salad before the meal or a free side of pasta in addition to the vegetable and starch already on your entree. You... More

Honestly, based on reviews alone this place is tremendous, but you need to know it is Northern Italian cuisine..veal, beef, some seafood, no chicken, very little pasta or red sauce. What they serve is good, but don't be mislead by the Italian moniker. I would have rated it 4, but our waiter was concieted and unwilling to help us. Will... More

Dear M3228DMchrisw, I apologize for the bad attitude of your server. I will address that immediately. I can't believe that you said that we have very little pasta on our menu and no chicken. Did you read the menu? There are well over 20 homemade pasta dishes including 2 Ravioli, homemade potato gnocchi and 2 different Lasagnas. There are also... More

We are a small fine dining restaurant specializing in traditional and authentic Italian cuisine. All of our items are made from scratch on premises from the bread to the gelato. The interior decor is old world and eclectic with a strong opera and classical music influence. Our service is professional and attentive . We look forward to providing you with an Italian culinary experience outside of Italy. Buon Appetito
